  4. Good day with Freddy Sr & Jr, Timmy Toe, Josh, Scott and a couple of Freddy's buddies. Thanks again Jr for the snowmobile ride Ended up with 23 perch to 13" plus Josh donated 7 additional perch and a burbot.
  5. Timmy-toe and I hit the ice today along with 3 of my buddies. Ice conditions were good to sketchy... some areas had 4" black 2" white other areas 2" black 1" water 2" white. We got fishing by 10am and the fish were negative until 3pm then we starting hitting crappie and a few gills everyone ended up with 7-10 keeper crappie and a few keeper gills. Slow for first ice but we got her done. 2 of my buddies today drove all over central/southern Adirondacks yesterday and this morning and only found safe ice on 2 lakes one of which we were fishing on. Mad dog

  7. Be careful out there guys things are not safe on 99.9% of the lakes. There are reports of guys (some I know personally) going through the ice around the state. I know guys that have traveled all over the Adirondacks to only find safe ice on small ponds.
  8. Well its that time of year to hit the saltwater and hit her hard. Been out twice for Haddock/Pollack, once for bluefish, once for blackfish, once for seabass and hopefully one more trip on Monday for Pollack.
  9. Hope everyone weathered Sandy we dodged a bullet unlike the coast.
  10. Been out a five times on three local freshwater lakes this summer for bluegills, perch and the elusive walleye. IT was good to get out and fish.... Decent largemouth on a bluegill rig. Average smallmouth at 16" on a perch rig. I've seen blue perch and perch with too many and not enough stripes but I've never seen one like this. Only walleye taken a clipped fish from last years stocking efforts. Typical bluegill from one of the trips
  11. Got back Tuesday from our 2012 Alaska trip. We are already planning next years trip. Glad we didn't clam here yikes that's alot of people Silly Moose silly whale heading towards Seward harbor icebergs? Snow? almost 4,000 feet above sea level they had 900 inches/75 feet of snow this past winter Same mountain top yikes snow in the valley bears only a 3.5 mile hike to get here no rainbows caught. Hike another 1.5 miles to catch Artic Grayling but when we got there found out the season was closed until midnight Heading out on one of our fishing trips Razor clams mmmm Yellow Eyed rockfish Ling Cod
  12. Happy Birthday Tip-up Tim. Jay I guess we are all in hiding for the summer Not much time for fishing let alone much fishing happening. Hoping for a good round 2 in Alaska coming up the end of this month.
  13. Haven't been out since Haddock fishing next trips will be 4 days fishing and 1 day razor clamming in Alaska. After that probably a trip for Bluefish and a trip for Pollack in October and possibly a trip for Seabass, Blackfish, Scup in Early November. Other than that lots and lots of work between today November or December 1st.
  14. Still been hitting the small brookies had this surprise one of the days They appear to be doing their thing about a month early this year. Finally got the 1st salt trip of the year under my belt. Chartered a six pack boat it was a haddock slaughter with over 150 caught many smaller fish which is a good sign for the years to come and the keepers were big. Caught enough 19-24" cod to limit out if the season were open.
  15. Fished another watershed today for about 1 hr only fished 2 streams caught a brown 9-10" at the 1st stream and around 10-12 brookies up to 7" at the other
  16. Fished a different watershed today from about 1pm-2:15pm for dink trout. Bounced around and fished 5 different streams ended up with 2 Browns one 9-10" other 12-13" and around 15 brookies.
  17. Jay where are the trout pics?? I see you posted some on another site. The wife and I fished opening day in the evening for about 2 hours at one of my trophy Brown Trout spots. Never saw a fish.... which is typical anyways. Took the wife out today for about 2 hours midday even though she has a cold she still wanted to go. Tried a few different small streams that hold brook trout. Caught this one on my fathers property. All my life growing up I never saw a fish in there but this year I finally caught not one but two Brook trout out of the pool. Strange. We fished a few other streams with no luck on the trout just some creek chubs. We made one more stop on the way home and ended up with an additional 8 Natives from 4-8" before having to head home. It was neat to fish the same small watershed all day and use the last 5 years of my stream shocking for Brook Trout to our advantage.
  18. Glad you made it out and got some fish to boot Thats some good eating right there.
  19. This time of year most are fishing cod off Montauk (eastern end of Long Island) this is 2 hr 45 to 3 hrs from NYC. Most of the boats around NYC go out of Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn I believe this time of year for flounder?? I would do a google search and see what you find or noreast.com . I have only fished NY salt with the Captree Princess out of south shore long island about 1.5 hrs from NYC (although I think they are in Montauk Cod fishing this time of year)
  20. Good to hear from you Steve hope is all well with you too.
  21. Very nice guys...... the ice is still here for at least another 10 days and should be fishing into April no problem in the dacks. Gotta love fishing in T-shirt weather with nobody else around and plenty of safe ice.
