Actually, I've rarely seen a pheasant sitting in a tree. I know they do occasionally, but it's just not something seen that often.

Thanks, guys. However, I can handle just 1 weapon at a time. Actually, it was more thrilling to get a photo of this bird than it would have been to bring it down with the 12 gauge.

Nice shot Mike of one of my favorite birds. While hunting in SD we watched about 30 to 40 birds all go to roost in a tree in the middle of a corn field right before sunset. Makes me wonder what the heck that bird of your was thinking.

That's one beauty of a Rooster! That first shot really does it! I have also seen this several times in South Dakota, but I've never had the camera along at the right time.

Nice! I found a rooster in a snag over the slough near Russell last spring. But I was there looking for sunsets, so the light was really wrong. The color here is beautiful.

That is one smart pheasant, its trying to imitate a robin so its safe from hunters. The color on them is just amazing! Sweet shot.

hehe,, I'm faced with the same dilema this time of year,, what to shoot it with,, personally, I am getting more enjoyment out of shooting them with my camera,, now that I have my 12 year old licensed for back-up

Those are neat shots. I haven't seen any in trees hunting in southern MN, but on the game farms up here, sometimes they don't have any choice!

Ken, I'm surprised they have pheasant game farms that far north. We don't have any grouse game farms down here. That doesn't seem fair.
