58-inch-musky-009.jpg

From what I’ve read, the measurement might have even been a little conservative (maybe 60).

Just a beast and congrats to the hunters that boated it!!!!

Probably another state record released to make more memories. That’s the coolest part.

I really hope somebody bought the other pictures of this fish. Terrible photograph, waves or no waves. I'd hate to be dissapointed by another big fish story. and i KNOW they don't take the pictures for me, but if this kind of thing is going to go totally public you might as well have some good proof of the size. Sorry to bring this thread in that direction, but I've gotten better pictures in bad conditions by myself.

from what I understand, the resort or lodge or wherever these guys caught this fish out of put it up. Not the fisherman themselves, but still. I'm sure they didn't expect it to make such a big splash all over the web, or maybe they did I don't know. Just a dissapointing photo is all. Story of the year for some big fish I guess.

its called adrenaline laugh i would be so pumped after catching a fish like that i would probably fall out of the boat

Bad or good picture still a nice fish!

Bronzeback, if I catch a BIG fish I will make sure to take thousands pictures from every angle with/without measure board, me smiling,me no smiling, vertical, hortzional, on boat floor, in water to satisfy your needs...

I got your back bronze...

If a fish of that magnitude ever graces the bow of my boat I will ensure that my pics are of exceptional quality. You will only get one chance in your entire life to pose a fish like that. Regardless of if it goes public or not... I want a good pic of me and my fish of a lifetime.

Don't take it for granted. The first thing I do in my boat is teach others how to use my camera. I would have tied the anchor to this photographers leg and pushed him off the side of the boat for botching this one. smile

Yeah same here. I realize it is 50lbs and very windy... but if someday I catch a fish like that there will be multiple pics showing the whole fish. If I caught that fish in a hurricane I would make sure I had at least 1 pic of the whole fish.

I think I'm starting to notice a pattern...somebody catches a big fish, takes a picture or two and releases it. Sometime later the pictures end up on the internet and people pick them apart and criticize poor photography and talk about taking lots of pictures of big fish in adverse conditions. Meanwhile other threads criticize people who take too long to release a smaller, but still nice (say 40 inch or so) fish because they want to get lots of good pictures. Please don't get all "holier-than-thou" when somebody wants to take a couple pictures of a fish or handles one differently than you or, heaven forbid, keeps one and then run your mouth and say you would take lots of pictures of a trophy fish, even in conditions that would likely harm it if exposed for any serious amount of time. I think the anglers that caught this fish should be congratulated for their catch and it's quick release.

hey ole matty like i said up there, I know they didn't take the pictures for ME. but if the story is going to be up all over it'd be nice if the pictures were more effective.

i 100 percent agree that a better picture would be great but a picture better than no picture at all

we dont know their stories.. maybe they want us to vent our head off bashin and later on they post better pictures? or maybe their camera ran out of batteries after one picture? or they was fishing by rocks bar and dont want windy to push the boat against rock and they have to released it quick than they want to? who know really???????????

again even for a half of picture thats a really nice fish..
