The two times I have went through Chicago, all I saw were slums and projects with the windows all boarded up. I would not have gotten out of my car for anything.

When I was in the Navy at Great Lakes, a bunch of us went in my car down to the city one night. I stopped at a red light (like you do) and a Chicago cop car pulls up next to me and asked me what we were doing. He pointed at a building, said it was Cabrini Green and told me NOT to stop at red lights, pause then go through them, or else we would get shot.

Gary,

Look at the beginning of this thread and your question will be answered. As for the rest of this, it is just TOO EASY! I wish I had this good of bait while fishing, I would limit out in an hour! LOL

Cities chosen were for a specific purpose and I offered to end this debate, those who choose to extend it can do so at their own risk.

a 70,000$ home on the Iron Range is probably identical (bigger lot more than likely)to a $300,000 home in the Chicago suburbs

NOW, take 20-30% off of that for the housing value crash andddddd.....................................

I hate to burst your little Twinkie bubbles but this series is a Win Win and possible Win for the old Wind Bag, here is how...

A) The White Sox win the last three games and I am happy because I am always happy when the Sox win

B) The Sox lose and I am still happy because they lower the tragic number for the Twinks leading to their eventual demise

C) The Sox win and Detroit ends up losing the division and I get to rub it in for life how the Twinks needed the help of my Pale Hose to win the division!!!

You can't wipe the smile off my face! LOL

If you don't feed the troll, you don't end up with several pages of this dreck.

But then, what fun would that be? gringrin

Steve's got the jist of this thread...always fun to banter.

Now, how many Reservations are there in IL? (a comeback to Cabrini Green/Slum postings)

and to end my defense of IL:

I do remember the time I spend a month one weekend in MN!

PS Sled, please educate me....what/where is Iron Range?

OK, you can be the host with the most....where is Iron Range?

PS I'm a Rock Bass guy, not much of a walleye guy so I could use your help....although this yr, after about 30, I finally got my PB of 22"...a real beauty...patience is a virtue so they say.

the range is north of duluth! actually people consider the range to be a much bigger area than that map indicates

PB of 22" hmmmmmmm, we can fix that real quick

Windy, you might be smiling 'cause it looks like C was correct.

However, the Twins won this one fair and square with or without WSox help.

BTW, it was the WSox that needed the Twins help to come in 3rd.

I had something similar happen to me in chicago. I used to have the tendency to just start driving around when I was in different cities on business which has almost gotten me killed I might add. (philly loop etc.) One time in chicago I just started driving when I needed gas so I pull into gas station and had to pre-pay. I go up to the bullet proof glass window and and older gentleman asked me if I knew were I was? I said no. He says I think you better get back in your car, go back the way you came and DO NOT stop at a any stop lights. he was very convincing so I did as he said and am lucky he gave me the advice he did or I would not be typing these words today. I am older and much wiser now and do not get myself into these situations anymore. Well not as often anyway smile
