Trading or releasing T-Jack by Friday?

That's exactly my point. As I said, I don't believe his performance means anything yesterday. You can't take anything from one drive in garbage time. The only thing you can say about it is that he came in and did his job. End of story, nothing more. Why rip the guy for doing his job?

The only reason a few people came in and brought up his performance yesterday is because of all of the negative talk about the guy with everything and anything that he does. They were clearly tongue in cheek comments with a hint of sarcasm. Take the comments for what they are. They served their intended purpose and that was clearly to get the T-Jack haters worked up again.

Think about it. Look at how this thread has gone back and forth and the arguements used by both sides. When T-Jack comes in and does his job and doesn't screw up, you KNOW it will be brought to your attention. It's no different than if he would have come in and thrown a pick. You know THAT would have been brought up here too (by the other side), even though everyone knows it was in meaningless garbage time.

Yet the debate goes on here even though we won't be able to come to any NEW conclusions about the guy this year unless Favre goes down with an injury, which we can hope doesn't happen.

LOL you think they were tongue in cheek comments by Pier? Come on, you havent been here long enough if you think that. This debate went on for months before you starting reading any of it.

No one is ripping the guy for doing his job. Its ripping the people for bringing the drive up as if it was something other than meaningless.

Too bad after not eating there servings of crow last year, my guess is they still wont. If TJ had put up Berts numbers thus far, every hater on here would be ranting aout him not throwing for 300 yards. Are some of you finally getting our offense?

Ya i think everyone is finally getting our offense. Are you? I would think someone who pumps his chest about the football you played in the past would have been able to predict what was going to happen with this offense with a QB who can actually read a defense and manipulate defenders. See what happens when you have a real QB (or the shell of a man as you have said) tossing the ball against 8 man fronts? Heck he can even throw the ball on 3rd and 8's.

I've seen plenty of Pier's comments. And maybe the wool is pulled over my eyes, but yes, I do believe they are made partially tongue in cheek to get people worked up. There's way more comments in this thread like that than people realize. So it's funny to see everyone get as worked up as they do. As I said (and we both agree), you can't take anything from one drive in garbage time. Maybe it's wishful thinking. But I'd like to think that everyone posting here realizes that.

Agreed! 100% completion percentage. How many guys can say they've done that? I know neither Brett Favre or Peyton Manning can! That performance was his ticket to the Hall of Fame!

I think you can take something away from his garbage time performances. This sunday he went in there and did his job, made at least one nice throw and avoided a sack in doing so. It was garbage time but he made a nice play regardless of the score or time remaining.

Likewise if he were to have gone in there and thrown a pick or two, fumbled or looked totally lost those things can be looked at and criticized regardless of the score or time remaining.

Even in garbage time you still need to make good decisions, make good throws when asked and take care of the ball. If you can do that all during garbage time then you prove you are ready to be given a shot at starting again down the road, but if you can't then you aren't going to be making yourself look good to the coaches.

I would agree with that to a point. But it's hard to take anything from one single drive. Anyone can look good or bad for just one drive. And I would agree that he looked good on Sunday. He did everything he was asked to do. I just don't think you can draw any long term conclusions from it. If he is given one drive every week and he consistently performs like that, then you can safely draw a few more conclusions, even in garbage time.

For those of us that believe T-Jack has a future in the league, he did exactly what we would expect out of him on Sunday. He did well in very limited playing time. Hopefully he continues to get opportunities like that so he can continue to get more game time reps. They can only help.

You guys see Sanchez VS Henne tonight? Two young Q-Backs who get it.

How about Flacco or Ryan...another two young q-backs who get it.

Cassell...you can add him to that list too.

One thing that's never been said by anyone who's ever seen TJack play is... "he gets it".

All the evidence anyone should need is being played out by a 40 year old q-back who is effortlessly leading this team to 30+ points per game over the first 5 games.

Good post no fish, but if you check out the St.Louie 09 thread, you will see I almost nailed it to a T and yes the haters wont fess up in that thread but come over here to rant. Consider what TJ did to be a save opportunity. And he did everything right and he still gets raked over the coals.

HECK YEAH!!!! junkson came right in and showed the rams who is boss!! he shredded that defense forsure!!!

he's been a decent back up qb just what he should be after all the starts and chances he's had in the league...he's played more games then the qb's mentioned above but yet he's progressed like a snail compared to any of them.

but for you people that think he's a bonified starter which team in their right mind would take junkson to be their starter? maybe after the rams see how he can shred a defense we can get them to trade us some of their picks!! they will be great picks!

So we're supposed to trust the coaches that TJ beat out Sage for the #2 spot. That's obviously what the depth chart says. But you don't trust the coaches when they say that Favre obviously beat out TJ for the starting job. Hmmmm....why is TJ our BACKUP QB? Because he is BACKUP TALENT.

Favre didn't necessarily beat out TJ for the starting spot, he earned it from years of experience and his knowledge of the game! So i take that back, he beat out tj with years of experience, no doubt in anyones mind that favre is the better qb!! Obviously fave was going top be our starter!!

When did any of us say that tj should be starter???

you keep up as well as your favorite football player!!

my point is junkson is a BACK UP quarterback...he had the keys to the lambo and couldn't leave the driveway...since then we've brought in 2 other qb's...ya dig?

i think what you meant to say is he CAN'T DO IT all game so he is our number 2 qb.

I have never said he should be number one over favre.......just stated that he beat out sage to be number 2!! You hater's make up too much stuff and put words in others mouths wayyyyy too much! wink

By the way.....he beat out one of the 2 qb's brought in and we ALL new he didn't have a shot against favre...ya dig???

I'd say T-Jack looked pretty solid in mop-up duty. Most back-ups could not have pulled it off as well as T-Jack did. Must really suck for you guys trying to diminish him to avoid taking huge gulps of crow.

Looks like he's learning a little from Favre. My opinion is that he's getting better just like a developmental QB should.

I also saw a couple of times where he was standing next to Favre going over plays. Imagine that T-Jack naysayers.

EAT YOUR CROW nicely T-JacK haters. laugh
