Steve Foss
I've been feeling a little rusty with the cameras lately, so when cabin fever struck this afternoon, I got out and cruised around looking for some of the usual suspects. This is the time of year they'll be out most of the day when it's cloudy, and I found plenty. All with the Canon 30D, Canon 200 f2.8L (some with 1.4 TC added), iso400, shutter speeds from 1/250 to 1/1000 at f2.8 or f4, monopod
mmeyer
Those are very nice Steve! We don't see you around here as much anymore. I hope that changes, soon!
Catmendo
Beauties Steve, excellent composition! They're all keepers, but I especially like the 2nd from last!!! Makes you wonder if she can read that sign!
finnbay
Nicely done ol' buddy. I recognize the rocks and the sign - took a trip that way mid-week and "deer everywhere" is right on!

Steve Foss
Thanks guys. I've been concentrating on lake trout the last month or two, which generally happens this time of year. Other than a February wedding, there hasn't been much in the photo department since all those Bogtrots in December. But with the ice deteriorating and the laker season winding down, I'll be turning my attention back to the cameras more and more. I've been trying to get a nice image of a deer near that No Hunting sign for a few years. The deer winter in there, and this time of year especially they are numerous and easy to photograph without a big telephoto lens because after a hard winter they are stressed and moving slower, and the roadside slope faces south so it clears off and they can get to the grass. That deer didn't want to pay much attention to me, but when I whistled it perked up and I got the pose I was looking for. Now to photoshop on a 12-point rack. dukhnt
All are nice but my favorite is the one with the no hunting sign. Hope you caught a lot of lake trout.
