License question

So i was looking at my 08 license and it says that it expires Feb 28 but a little lower it says that it is effective 3-1-08 through 4-30-09. So which one is correct? I know it has usually been Feb 28 but my neighbor said that it is a new regulation? Not so sure about it so i thought i would ask.

They changed it to April 30th a year or two ago.

yup under the feb 28 it says "unless otherwise noted" and apr. 30 is th otherwise noted part

I have another question along those lines. I knew my license was good till end of april, but i went ahead and bought my 09 license today anyways. i notice it says it expires on feb 28th of 2010. so do those that buy a license may 1st only get a 10 month license? i hope i didnt by mine too early so i lost a couple of months.

What might've happened is that the machine's stamps just haven't been changed yet. I think that's the reason they gave us at Gander when the regulation changed awhile back.

looking4fish you are covered just like everyone eles is until April 30th 2010.

I purchase a combination sportsman license every year so I just assumed the Feb 28th exp. date was referring to the small game portion of the license. Having the fishing license expire just before opener just seems logical.

You are correct metrojoe. Fishing is the only thing that goes to April. Trout stamp is not included nor is small game.

According to another post I just read, trout stamps do expire the end of April with the license.
