Gas or Electric Pressure Washers

Go Gasoline!!!

It may be a bit more cumbersome but well worth it. I have one that is about 6 years old now and it still works great. Honda engine is sweet grin. I would buy the biggest your wallet will let you. I store mine in my basement over the winter so there is no chance of freezing up the water side of the unit and I am sure the engine doesn't mind to much either.

depends!! if outside or using inside but if it outside a must is gas more power!!! I have my own brick restoration (repair) comp and I clean a lot of brick and good gas (12hp and at least 2000 psi) is they only way to go! you can get a smaller one (like craftman) but be ready to replace it about every 2-4 year.

Well, on the other hand -

do you really need all that much pressure for the standard home uses?

do you want to haul around all that weight?

do you want to screw around with the gasoline rig after you forget to drain the carb in the fall?

do you want to drain the oil, add gas etc.?

do you have the bucks for the big rig?

do you really need one that often or is it ok to pay the bucks to rent one and let them worry about all the above?

I had a gas powered and went to an electric. Not as handy but for the limited use I have for one it's one less gas engine to maintain. The pressure isn't nearly as high but for home use it's ok. Lighter to move around and way quieter. Them gas powered ones get pretty annoying to listen to.

Yes!

do you want to haul around all that weight?

You can find them on carts with inflatable rubber tires that roll pretty smooth!

do you want to screw around with the gasoline rig after you forget to drain the carb in the fall?

Add a couple ounces of seafoam to the gas tank run it for about 5 minutes (make sure you are pulling the trigger on the wand so you don't ruin the pump) shut it off, top off the fuel tank and don't worry about it.

do you want to drain the oil, add gas etc.?

Who uses it enough to change oil?

do you have the bucks for the big rig?

You can find cheap ones in both gas and electric. You can get a pretty nice gas setup for around $450.

do you really need one that often or is it ok to pay the bucks to rent one and let them worry about all the above?

Buy one! Once you own one you will find all kinds of excuses to fire it up. Besides it will add to your cylinder index!

We're all getting older as well, hard to keep up with the age after awhile.

At least I'm sitting at about 120, I'm good for a couple of years. laugh

I would go with a gas powered one for the simple reason of portability... I have a huge electric one for use in a farming operation (10 hp, 3000 psi, 5 gallons per minute). I use it for cleaning purposes on cars but you really have to watch out how you use it. A smaller one would be nice for the around the house purpose but I would choose gas powered for ease of portability and a little more power than a home use electric one.
