I put apple smoke chips under my cargo area carpet and cat liter on top side for a week.Used dish soap for a quick carpet clean after that week.

Kept windows cracked a bit all the time until smell was absorbed and gone. Early spring I had the entire truck shampooed by a carpet company for $50

well if you want to spend the money bring your car into a dealership and have them do a interior detail I think they are around $50-70 they will shampoo all the carpet. and that will take care of the smell. plus your whole inside of your car will be detailed too. and also just ask to see how much they would charge just to shampoo that part of the carpet. should be less than $30 bucks. I work at a ford dealership back in the detail shop. any more questions just give me a shout.

Remove the carpet and shampoo it out of the truck and let it dry. Clean the metal and sound deadener under the carpet wiyh soap and water and let it dry out good. Floor dry or cat litter may help absorb some of it also. Or say to heck with it and roll up the windows and light up a cigar BOOM!!!!!

+1 to those who have said take it to a dealership and get it detailed.

The truck will look like brand new on the inside and the smell will be gone.

Done and done.

worked for me....

Scent killer will work, but remember that it is only a "cover-up" and not a solution...

You will have to have the vehicle detailed/cleaned in order to actually SOLVE the problem...

Call your local Fuel oil provider. Many of them sell products that get rid of fuel odors from spills that may have occurred at a home. I have a spray can of stuff that took the smell away after 1 application. (Dumped a 1 gallon can of auger gas in the back of my mini van.)

you best bet to get the smell out of your car is to. get it detailed! they will suck the gas out while cleaning all the carpet and plastic. thats like the only way to to remove the gas and oil. yes floor dri will work and do would cat litter but other thing that they will do it make a mess. trust me I detail car and trucks I know what I am talking about.
