I have yet to get into a bite where I can pull more than a couple fish per spot this year, but was able to find this 5.5 lb hog.

South of the metro Friday. Several over 15" and almost all on a brown spro frog. They didn't start hitting till the sun was high and all were along cattail islands in 1'-3'.

Went out to a lake I haven't fished this year yet for a few hours last night. Got there and the shores were choked with Curly leaf. Ugh, those lakes and me go together like Beer and ice cream! Found a decent inside weedline and mostly stuck to that. Lots of dinks there, but ended up getting one decent 20in bass and 5+ in the 14-16in range. Even had some topwater fun towards sundown. Got the one on a Yum Dinger. Had camera issues and cut the darn tail off. Must of been the curly leaf curse.

I had three hours to kill while my daughter was at gymnastics class yesterday, so I decided to dump the boat in and go crappie fishing for a couple hours. Started with ultra-light, mini tube jig. The very first cast changed my crappie plans...

15.5"

Decided to switch over to bass, and motored to a fave bass spot. But on the way, I got distracted by a fave walleye spot, so I stopped there to drag a jig & Gulp leech to see if I could pick up a walleye or two. Again, the bass had other ideas...

So, finally resolved to bass fishing once and for all, I went to the honey hole with a senko/swim-jig, and found this fella...

18.5"

18.5" was the biggest for the day. 17.5" was next biggest. The 15.5"er only gets posted because he was first. I lost count, but I probably caught 2 dozen bass, and only a couple of them were under 12", most in the 14-15" category, handful over 16". Made it back to gymnastics class with 5 minutes to spare!

I was out on Vermilion last weekend and was able to get a new PB Smallie (17 3/4" and healthy) and my GF was also able to catch a few nice Smallies on Spinner and Crankbaits.
