That's great that your wife let you go out fishing when she was about to pop!

Congrats Aaron.

When my wife was pregnant with our girls she'd come back from a check up and say the baby was 18" and 5 lbs or something and I would always come back with "That's a nice size bass." One track mind I guess.

Lol yeah, its one of my favorite cranksbaits!!

The little guy must of been pretty hungry, or really agressive, since the crank doesnt even fit in his mouth lol. I think this is my smallest bass ever. Its was only like 6 inches lol. I usually have better luck on the other side of the point.

Got these to today, first one 19.5" second one just at the 20" line on the board but was by far the fattest 20" fish I have seen in a long time, both fish hit a white spinnerbait big fish had the whole bait down just short of the gullet, released with no harm, good deer opener

Yep all were off of whats left of the weeds, small one was off of an isolated clump on an inside turn, second one was off a good hard edge on an inside turn, was really surprised we didn't pick more out of that spot, but my boat drifted over it when I took the pic so I might have spooked em

To sight fish when ice fishing you just drill your hole like normal and look directly down and watch the fish react to your presentations. You need relatively clear water, it's a lot like spearing because it allows you see the fish and you can keep decide whether or not you want them to eat the bait so you can enjoy seeing the fish without even harming it by taking it out of the water.

this could be a stupid question...but how do you sight fish when you're ice fishing? shovel off a nice shallow clear spot and just hurry and drill a hole when you see a fish?

Well in my limited ice fishing experience the water is generally 2-3 times clearer on a lake than in summer times. So if you are fishing say a seven foot weed edge you can usually see fish near your jig 5 feet down or so on brighter days. The fish seem to be oblivious to your presence so you can watch them and see what kind of motion they like.
