Fishing lures, rigs

I know everybody has their favorite way to fish. I think thast mine is probably crankbaits. I just love trying to fine tune my presentation to trick bass into biting something that can be used to mimic tons of forage, but really doesn't look like any unless it is fished right.

My question is what do you guys catch the most fish on. Even if it's not your favorite way to fish. I love cranks, but I would have to say that I catch most my fish on jigs. And if I were to say the exact lure, it would have to be a blk/blu 1/2oz. jig with a plastic trailer. Just curious to see what others have to say... Let me guess... Deitz, dropshot???

I love to figure out a good crankbait bite. It can be very difficult to pinpoint the bite and make the right casts, but once they get going on the bit, it can be a riot.

I would have to say the majority of my fish come every year on a 4" jigworm or lately a shakey head.

My best time on the warter has been sight fishing. Although we don't get to do it a lot up here, IMO nothing beats a brown fish on a bed.

My favorite way to catch fish is throwing a frog into the thick stuff. It really doesnt get any more exciting or challenging. I really enjoy trying to get fish out of spots others would never even dream of throwing their lures. The way that I catch the most fish however is throwing a jig around deep structure, weedlines or docks. Jigs are just so versitale its hard not to catch alot of fish on them. Like Tonka I probably catch most of mine on a black and blue jig with some sort of plastic trailer.

TB- Boy, thats really hard to say.. For me it changes throughout the year.. However, if I had to say, what my fave way to catch fish.. Its an easy choice for me... hands down, either a Flipping Jig or a Flippin Tube in Heavy cover. Aint nothing better than setting the hook with about 15 feet of line out and have a hog come flying out of the water shakin its head!! By far my fave way to fish.. But its not always the best bite.

As many know, I do enjoy drop-shotting, its effective, and a great way to put a lot of fish in the boat.. but the bite is hard to feel, the hook set is lame, and its a heart attack waiting to happen as you prey that you 6 lb line and wimp rod will hold up as the fish dives 10 times by the boat.

I like to leave a bruise on my side when I swing the ole flippin stick. That just flat out rocks.. and when a fish hits a flippin tube or a jig, you would have to be dang near dead to not feel it..

I also like to fish what I call a stupid rig/carolina rig.. The hook sets are fun on that one too..

If you cant tell, the hook set is by far my fave.. fighting a fish is good fun, but nothing is better than rocking some fishes world with an earth shattering set!!!

^^^That

Anyways I think my favorite way to fish is tossing a senko right up against a clump of reeds or visible structure and waiting for the line to "Jump" then its game on! I enjoy it because if I bring friends out onto the boat that don't fish very often its a simple fun way to get big fish into the boat. Otherwise my new favorite way has been flipping a jig to cover or under docks and waiting for the "Thump"

Hiya -

I'm fond of saying that my "favorite lure" is whatever I caught my last fish on... smile

For smallmouths, I would say I catch the majority of my fish either swimming grubs or swimming jigworms, although drop shotting is tops at certain times of year.

For LMB, it's really a toss-up between jig worming or deep crankbaiting. With either one, I love feeling my way down a deep weedline. Takes a lot of concentration and focus, and I love the hits - either the 'tic' of a jigworm bite, or the slack line hits when a fish rushes a crankbait. Fun stuff. A close second though would be pitching in rushes with a Texas-rigged creature bait.

Too many fun ways to catch bass to just pick one smile

Cheers,

Rob Kimm

Pitching a jig to shallow cover is my preferred way to catch 'em. Big rod, big line, big fish, and plenty of visual targets to keep the mind in the game.

Also have to agree with RK about the jigworm bite. It's hard to beat when the fish get grouped up on weed edges.

I think nothing is better than a good topwater FROG bite...LOVE IT!!!

I also like to catch fish on jerkbaits.

Most of my fish last year came on 3 things: spinnerbaits, dropshot with 3" gulp minnow(smelt), and char/green swirl tikistick.

I probably caught the most fish on the dropshot (but it is boring - but much more fun when using two rods and double up...trying to hold one between your legs while you land the other but still keep tension..always fun) and the most total weight on the spinnerbait (char/white 1/2oz with doble willow - 1 gold 1 silver)
