First out with all of MY gear

I've been seriously ice fishing for two seasons now, and after xmas this year I finally feel like I can go out by myself and get on some fish. I have my own one man portable, got a new VX-1 for myself in mid december, was lucky enough to have santa bring me a buddy heater for xmas, along with a handful of jigs. I took some pics last night of a nice trip! I was only out for about 1.5 hours after work, but did manage 5 sunnies and a crappie, so all in all it was a wonderful night out!

I picked up some shower curtain hangers and they work awesome for hanging random things in the portable, like my coat, lanyard with clippers and pliers!

I thought this looked kinda neat with my headlamp off

It looks like you have some very nice gear and a great little setup there. It looks like maybe you built in some storage and put new carpet on the floor, very warm looking rig. Have a great time out on the ice, it's a great peaceful way to spead sometime during the winter. Good luck! Leech~~

Great job on the mods. Looks like you are pretty set for fishing by yourself. Nice to get out there and catch some fish isn't it? Your vex looks like it's marking some fish too. How did you do?

Nice looking set-up Jake and the shower curtainhook idea looks better than what I use. I took some "S" hooks and bent them to fit the rod.

The shower curtain hook is a really good idea. Couple of other things you can do is zip tie a regular coat hook to your pole, the kind you would mount on your wall at home. Then you don't have to worry about them when you collapse them. Also, frabile makes ones that velcro to the poles. I think they were like $7 for a two pack. Your way is the most economical for sure though.

Leech, fishing was pretty good that night ended up with 5 sunnies and a crappie in an hour and a half, although they were tiny it's always good to catch something! Glad everyone liked the shower curtain hook idea :-)
