Merk dont bother going to hunter lake was just out there and its pretty sad alot of 10-15lb pike dead on the bottom and on the ice. Talked with a couple of guys that have been spearing pike and suckers and they said that a week before the permisquis fish opened they would auger a hole in the fish house and the sunnies and crappies were coming up already. last night there was 10 or 12 guys around the big hloe pulling out bullheads, pike and sucker. You could give it a try but in myopinion its just about dead.

the trick is to be there as soon as they open the lake up for permisquis fishing. Typically the dnr will cut a big hole in the ice. I look for were there may be a source of O2 coming into the lake such as a creek, culvert with trickle of water, etc and open a hole up bigger the better. the source of O2 will draw the fish because of lack of O2 in the lake use spears, dipnets, to retrive the fish.
