Went fishing yesterday with my grandson and I caught at 8 inch sunny and he caught an 11.25 inch crappie.

I caught my biggest hybrid sunfish to date. 10 inches on the nose. Smacked my crankbait, missed the hookset but on the second cast I got it. I was fishing from my kayak.

I finally got back to my favorite lake for big panfish. My seminary roommate drove up 7 1/2 hours to spend a few days on the water. We landed LOTS of nice smallies between 12-18" and countless less than 12", plus plenty of eater size bluegills in the 7-8" range. Here are some pics of our bigger fish. We found one spot that was dynamite in the evening for BIG rock bass - the ones shown are over 10". The gills are just over 9.5" long.

These were from the family cabin in northern Michigan... nice to see the panfish coming back, they were decimated by years of walleye and tiger musky stocking combined with over-exploitation by anglers

Tony, native tanks are great, I have one as well and love it! 2 eyes,one perch, a 11 inch sunny, 3 crappies,a bass and a bullhead call it home!
