Oneida lake ice

Let me know if you want to venture over there Todd, the best thing about that spot is that in less then 300 yards you can be into gills in the weeds or perch and walleye's in 30' of water plus I marked the weed line where it turns into mud and rocks then dumps into a big deep basin.

Like Todd said, there were few fish marked but I did get seven nice ones on a 1/8 oz. buckshot rattlespoon and a brown stoni. The fish were aggressive when they came in, key for me was keeping the treble swinging to seal the deal. If you stopped it they went away. I also rolled two piggies, aarghh! Most of the fish I marked came in pairs to 4 or 5 the few times they were under my hole. Of course I wasn't without incedent on the way out little Freddy and I got going a bit to fast and we bogged in a small pocket of loose snow/slush and my otter jumped in to the air a bit and stuff naturally started flying out on the ice about 11 jigs or so came undone as two jig case plastic corners broke on a couple of my boxes and my seat, otter cover, bungies and stuff were left behind (15 min. delay) and back on our way. Thanks Fred and Freddy Jr. for the rides to and fro, there's no way I would have been able to walk that out to the middle of Oneida. Just walking out to the island this morning I was sweating pretty good. I didn't see any machines bogged down and I believe ATV traffic would have been fine out there. Good hard ice and bring the power auger I was drilling through what seemed to be about 16 - 18" of ice... Great fishing with Todd, Wheeler, The Smith's King Salmon and Jimmy, nice two-up Polaris Jimmy had 06 with all the bells and whistles. King Salmon had compass problems finding the South Shore Launch and drove around for an hour up and down 31 trying to find it crazy

Here's the pic of the first two I caught..

Anybody heading out to any where tomorrow, I wouldn't mind hooking up with someone. Haven't been out in a couple days and have the itch to do some catching of the fish. Someone give me a shout if you want to get together for a run.

Todd, I'm thinking Sunday is the day for the GPS party on Oneida. Plus the South shore Derby is today and it's going to be a mad house out there. I'll call you tonight with the plans, I'll call you also Frank about the plans and how today pans out. Good luck all.

Well I spent from 7AM to 7PM out from the beach today, Marked fish all day and ended up with 1 9" White Perch, 1 10" Eye, 2 Perch 12.5" & 13". And had something about rip my pole outa my hand as I was letting the jig fall to the bottom, actually shredded the line and made off with one of my good jigs. Fish became a lot more active when it got dark. At least my new LED lights work sweet!! Think I might go back tomorrow for some more punishment. For the life of me I couldn't figure out what the fish wanted today.

Fished out of Apps on sat am in 15 fow and caught a few nice perch. Had 5 between 12-13 1/2 and the rest were between 10-12.The forage minnow tipped with spikes was the good jig for me.Quite a few on the ice in that area but not many perch in big numbers.

Fished Lewis Point this morning. On the ice and set-up in the dark. Marked some fish that wouldn't hit and then started getting into some walleye action. My buddy had 4 walleyes (3 keepers) and a ling and I had 3 walleyes. All nice size fish. The usual jigging rapalas and spoons tipped with buckeye heads or tails produced the fish. Fished in about 26'. Only took about an hour and a half to limit out. Have some pics may try to figure out how to post them.
