we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted December 23, 2008 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted December 23, 2008 a real fan calls it how they see it...not what they want to see. FISHINGURU
i'm a vikes fan first then a football fan second..if anyone on any team is a good player i'll say they are a good player...rodgers has played well this season...his progression is good for his first year...i'm sure he's played better then most people thought.am not the fan that says favre sucks when he doesn't just cause i don't like the pack when he played there...and i wouldn't be the fan that says peterson sucks if i was a different teams fan.them are the fans that need to get real.anyway the fish are calling...be back later...peace
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted December 23, 2008 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted December 23, 2008 Agreed. One should call it as they see it. However, a true fan does not call the team they are a fan of or it's players names. T-Jack isn't that great but he sure beats Frerotte and he has shown improvement. All in good fun. I enjoy Packer fans, Bear fans, heck all of em...even Windy Peace - Out. Merry Christmas all.

FISHINGURU
T-Jack isn't that great but he sure beats Frerotte and he has shown improvement. Merry Christmas all. forsure....thats the downfall though is comparing QB's to gus....any of our QB's would have a tough time starting for 99% of NFL teams.thats why people get so excited when they see one of them make improvements because honestly you couldn't get any worse.tjunk has way more untapped potential thats what makes him the more intriguing pick.gus is gus...he's never been starting quality in his career and is older then dirt...he's always 1 hit away from a career ender lol...but he did his job and got us some W's as a back up.don't get me confused as a hater or another teams fan though...i've said many times on this site i hope tjunk pans out for the sake of the team...i'd rather see him succeed so we can spend money in other areas next year....like an O-line men, or a shutdown corner, maybe a beast DT...we need to start covering the loss of fat pat, winfield, birk, ect...very soon....it will be tough to do if we need to make a blockbuster trade or sign a free agent QB....but if we have to do it we have to do it.i yell at the tv saying come on tjunk prove me wrong and go down there and take this game and get the W...i have no confidence yet its gonna happen but i still cheer for it.i'll admit i was totally shocked when the falcons scored on the opening drive we went right back down there and answered with a TD....i still think if berrian wouldn't of muffed that kick it would of been a totally different game....i wouldn't blame any one player on the loss but man that was huge for the falcons. Dave S
as were the Peterson fumbles. Give those back to the Vikings and it's a blowout.I personally would have pulled Peterson in favor of Taylor after the first fumble. A little time on the bench helped T-Jack, who's to say it wouldn't get AP to pull his head out long enough to wipe it off.Does anyone think after seeing Peterson standing by Childress acting like he did nothing wrong changed his perspective after he watched the game tapes? Or is AP too wrapped up in himself?
FISHINGURU
i'd never pull the best player on your team if not the best player in the NFL after he fumbled the first time...pull his head from what? trying to run hard and get his team back into the game? what is he supposed to do after a fumble? go sit on the end of the bench by no one and pout? not like he doesn't know to hold on to the ball...sometimes people put their helmet on the ball or strip it from behind when u don't even see the guy...it happens.the best part of all is you people would of whinned if he fumbled and got benched and we lost the game...it would of been why would u ever pull the best player...chilly is a moron lmmfao. dspohn
you maybe wouldn't pull him after 1 fumble but after two you definitely pull him. it's not like chestor can't run the ball we've all seen what he can do.
FISHINGURU
• Running back Adrian Peterson fumbled twice and lost one in Sunday’s loss to Atlanta. The Vikings finished with seven fumbles and lost four of them. “I’m hurting right now inside. It’s killing me,” he said. “We had the chance to clinch the NFC North. We did everything we could to not pull out the win today. I’m just very disappointed right now.”• Coach Brad Childress on Peterson’s two fumbles, which brought his season total to an NFL-high eight: “He’s not good with it but he’s not in the tank over it either. He’s a team player and he’s the first one to pat himself on the chest and say, ‘I did that, it’s my fault coach.’ He’ll take ownership of it and he’s accountable for it and you appreciate that about him, and if I know Adrian he’s going to set his nose to the grindstone and that’s not going to happen here next week.”
Dave S
Sure Peterson holds onto the ball. That's why he flails his arms like a broken chicken wing making it easier for the defense to strip the ball. It's obvious he can do A LOT MORE to protect the ball while he's running. As far as fumbles, IMO he had 3, not 2. I don't think the fumbled hand-off between Jackson and AP was Jacksons fault. And yes, I would have pulled AP after the FIRST fumble. He's been having issues with holding onto the ball lately. Not just in the Falcons game. I have to laugh everytime the commentators talk about AP's handshake and the grip he has. Maybe that was the jinx causing the fumbles. Either way, the game is behind us now. We'll see if he has a big game against the Giants. I sure hope so, I'll be there. FISHINGURU
like i've said before no one seems to mind when he's flailing his arms like a broken chicken wing crushing down defenders and and breaking big runs.ok so we'll give him the fumble for the tjunk exchange that gives him 3 fumbles....that leaves the rest of the team with 4 more. 7 fumbles and 4 we lost..u gonna put that all on peterson?he didn't fumble against ARI but the week before against DET he fumbled twice but we didn't lose any of them....then he went 4 games before that without a fumble once back in week 10 against GB that he didn't even lose...his 2 fumbles before that were week 6 against detroit...then 1 in week 4 against TEN.the funny part is 4 of his 8 fumbles are against DET.when you have 8 or 9 guys constantly trying to rip the ball from you for 350 carries its gonna happen. Big Dave2
The other thing to consider with Peterson is the amount of carries he gets. I don't know the numbers but I would have to think that he is right up there at the top in numbers of carries. If I am right, then he would naturally have more opportunity to fumble. Chester has a few fumbles this year also and not anywhere near the number of carries as AP or AD whatever you want to call him.
FISHINGURU
good chance he's towards the top of carries i know he's at 342 right now...only person i can think of at the top of my head would be turner that would have more..he's got 351 carries with only 2 fumbles...he's having a heck of a season.06 chester had 303 carries with 5 fumbles and 3 that he lost.07 chester had 157 carries with 5 fumbles and 4 that he lost.08 chester has 97 carries with 2 fumbles and 2 that he lost.it don't matter to me when u run like AP does and have the whole opposing defense with 1 thing on their mind is to stop AP and rip the ball out of his hands.i remember the vikes pre- peterson for years trying to find a spark for this team after losing moss...peterson is the reason our team is what it is...the bandwagon fans are back on board...ownership and staff seen what we have and went out to spend a bunch of money because of him this season.sorry but all that is a little more important then a few fumbles to me.i wish he never fumbled either but get real...there is times he tries a little to hard on last effort and loses the ball when he could of went down but also how many times have we scored or moved the chains on that last effort.i wouldn't change a thing about it...i'd ride it out with the guy no matter what. jltimm
Peterson is that good! Risk and reward. It's just like what you get with Favre at QB, he may throw an interception-but there is a real good chance he'll make something good happen! I just know the queens fans will love this statement!
