Has anoyne else here bought fishing equipment off hsolist? I have been spending a alot of time on there in the last three weeks and I have been getting some great deals on fishing tackle and equipment. Take it, this will probly be temporary until I get back to the US and am able to make my bi-weekly trips to Cabela's. I have so far spent over $700 on various equipemtn with even more purchases to come.

I've bought some stuff off there. I like that site, but now I use Craig's List more because it's local and you can see and hold the product before you pick it up.

Tons and you can search by location. So I just do MPS/STP and find all kinds of stuff.

just remember to carry your gun when you go to meet people from there. Has been alot of shady characters on hsolist lately.A guy just got shot in the face at his home in coon rapids a few weeks ago.Best to meet in a very public place and bring along a friend. Most people are honest but you always have to watch out for the few bad apples.

I agree, I would be very careful on what you purchase from these sites. I have purchased and sold on these sites and yes, there are some good deals and people but, the crooks are also there waiting to take ones hard earned cash. My banker told me they recieve many complaints fron their customers weekly about being took on hsolist.

Check the sellers history for sure to start out with.

A lot of the stuff is hot and being sold by large gangs who come from a wide area - Chicago and St. Louis. Stay away if you don't want to support these thugs, or at least check out the seller the best you can. If it's new and in the package you're going to need gloves to hold it.

I wasn't saying these sites are not good for getting deals,I have bought and sold many items on both I was just trying to point out that you have to be very careful to ensure you have a smooth and safe transaction when meeting someone from the web. And never have people come to your house to meet for an item,call me paranoid but I do not trust people I have never met no matter how nice they sound online or on the phone.

I agree Craig's list is more safer and you can find some good deals. I like that you don't have to wait for items to end on Craig's just call them and see if its still for sale.

I have been doing hsolist for a few years and also have gotten some goood deals but I have also seen some very bad deals. There was one sale we made and hsolist was of no help and needed to go farther and almost lost $5,000.00 on a scam through hsolist. Most sales are good but the crooks are there.

I hsolist all the time and have only had trouble once. I have also used hsolist and when selling stuff there I get ALOT of scam emails. Educate yourself so you know who/what is a red light trigger.

I know selling on hsolist you will get alot more money for your item if you are willing to ship overseas.

I sell stuff on hsolist all the time but i dont sell to Canada or Overseas, just saves on some stress. I think the biggest scams are people that don't read all the information on the add. 93x did a special on this one morning and people were calling in and some of the story's they were telling were horrible.

One more thing to look out for on hsolist is, Make sure you never reply to an email using your personal email address. If you reseave and email from a customer make sure you sign into your hsolist account and reply through there. They can hack into your account if you email them throw your personal email account. I have had this happen to me before!!! They listed a bunch of stuff and placed bids on items also. IT was a mess!!!

I have done a lot of buying and selling on both sites and haven't had any problems. I buy and sell a lot of used kids stuff on Criag's. Pretty much trust the people that come over and have had no problem. I have sold a couple of laptops and furniture and had people offer me twice what I was selling for if they could wire me a money order and then have someone else pick it up or ship overseas. Watch out for these guys, they are crooks!!! I respond saying that I'm going to turn that over to the police and never hear from them again. You have to be safe going to look at stuff, just the nature of the world today. A lot of times I have talked to the people over the phone and either meet at work or somewhere else. You can get a good feel. If it's a Mom trying to sell a swingset or something, chances are you are OK. There are no guarentees though and you never know if you are safe or not. I always tell my wife where I'm going and how long I will be. Give her the email, number and addy where I'm going. Might night save my butt, but if something did happen, she would have the info to give to the cops.

I have bought a lot of fishing equipment off of hsolist and never had a problem. In fact my boat, two depth finders/GPS combo's, and some tackle have come from hsolist. I have also sold some fishing equipment without any problems. Check the sellers feedback before you buy from them.

I've been buying most of my hooks off of hsolist as well as some great deals on Rapalas as well. I've also gottten a couple of reels and haven't had any issues at all. I make sure to check the sellers feedback and buy new items. I've also sold quite a bit as well. Nothing but good experiences so far and I've been doing it on and off since '99.

Yes you can find some great deals on Rapala's. If you know what you are looking for and the price you want to spend. Keep watching and you will find it for a good price.

I have bought alot of stuff off of hsolist including one of my Thorn.Bros wallleye sweetheart ice rods and have had pretty decent luck all in all, you have to be a little cautious but most of the time it goes good. The one thing I have found with C.L. is there is alot of scammers on there lately. They post great deals for sale on things and try to get you to send them your name, address and e-mail to have someone get a hold of you for shipping then you never hear from them again but then here comes the junk mail and pop-ups!!!
