Bowfishing reports

Thought we could use this thresd to post our results, water temps, and what kind of places everyone found fish. I will be checking some creeks today if the weather holds out.

shot 1 carp and missed 3 other ones from shore.

I checked 2 spots today. Water was very cold in both. Waders only, no boat. No fish in the rum river backwater. Missed a dogfish and bagged a 22" white sucker from a local lake.

No carp, to cold mabe.

me i shot 13 suckers my friend 4 and the other guy 2 we didnt see any carp but hear reports from other buddies theyve been seein em.

Shot 6 dogfish in a short outing today with the largest being 29".

Hit some local creeks in the far south metro today and shot 4 small carp, took alot of shots but was a little rusty being it was my first outing of the year. Hopefully there will be less wind next weekend so i can get the boat out

Went out for a couple hours today and didn't even take a shot.

I hit the local floodwaters and checked a lake outlet that is usualy good for me yesterday. I too took no shots.

Carp were rattlin the cattails in Otter Tail county today. Before noon, around a foot of water, no splashing but bursts of activity.

Just got in, shot about 25-30. Biggest was about 25-30 pnds. I think there just coming in to spawn. Most of them were full of eggs. Saw some spawning activity in one real small bay.

Here where I live that rattlin in the reeds cattails are notherns spawning,Been watchin them while crappie fishin.

Saw some movement @ luch time. 4 in the bag. Wake hunting mostly, just feeding and sunning, no spawning activity as yet.

Smallest male = 6lbs Biggest female 18lbs.

Not bad for an hours lunch.

Anyone pay attention to water temps while they are out. Last time I tried I found 48 degrees. Going to try some smaller shallower lakes today. I would love to shoot on the MN river but it it always too dirty. Maybe If I get way up some of the creeks?

Went to visit my family in the cities this weekend. Dad played hooky Monday so we decided to try our secret honey hole. Shot 13 carp in quick order. Had four go 30 pounds or bigger with the largest at 36. The rest were between 10 and 26 pounds. Not a bad day for the first day on the water. Can't wait to get back out!

Oh, and the water temp was 52 degrees. Seemed a big warm for what it felt like...

I got a few BIG carp! 20-30 lb. and 3 over 2 lb crappie kept 1 just to show off.But the no dead fish policy.I'll try to bulldog a carp,Is that legal? noodlin carp??

You can post dead carp if they are not too bloody and gross looking.

Oh yeah, got out for a little while from shore today. I took a few shots at small buffalo and suckers. I only saw one carp. Should get better by the weekend. All my good spots are too cold or too muddy.

I think we're fine to post pics. Afterall, it's okay to post speared northern pics, so why not carp? I would think if they're not too gross, it will be fine.

Perhaps a moderator could confirm this?
