Went out tonight and it was a bit slow but did manage to pull in this guy. He was a tad heavier than the 8 lb. Flathead I had the other night, so I am guessing 9-10 lb. range. I absolutely could NOT get the hook out, so I had to cut the line unfortunately. I felt really, really bad after I released him back to the water but I didn't want to harm him worse by trying to yank the hook out.

I'm extremely new to the catfishing thing, so this is a big cat for me sadly...

I always manage to make unusual faces when taking fish pictures...

Here is a nice fat fish from last night. It pays to wait the extra 10 minutes and be late getting home if you have the pictures to prove you actually caught one.

nice looking fish wish my days in the fall were 48hrs long so I could have enough time to hunt and fish in the same day but if they were that long I would prolly just take a longer knap after waterfowling

Went out tonight and had my first nice Flathead. Weighed in a 24 lbs. and 8 ounces. Was really fun and have a low quality camera phone picture I'll post up when I can.

Also caught a Carp on cutbait...anyone ever heard of such a thing?

You can catch just about anything on cutbait. I caught a shovelnose sturgeon last week.

Also, the guys just down river had a 29 lb Flathead just before I had my 25 pounder. I'm hoping they are a member and will post pictures...

Went back out tonight after catching that 24+ lb Flathead last night. My first fish was a 22 lb Flathead and then I had a personal best fish of 29 lbs 5 ounces.

I'm pretty excited! Will post pics later.

EDIT: Forgot to add that I bought a 6600 C4 Abu Garcia today and mated it to a new Ugly Stik Catfish rod and this was an excellent way to break it in a little!!! Only have 30 lb Big Game mono line on it so I'm glad it didn't snap when pulling it on shore. Did get some backlash though since it was my first time using a baitcaster and it was pitch black.

Wow. Sounds like a good time out there! I'm hoping to get out this week sometime. Those C4's are great reels. I imagine the water level is pretty low eh?
