mike morris
I have some left over from this winter... Would Power Pro be bad for casting just like the other braided lines? This line is different than the other braided lines, and it's the only one that seems to work out for my winter reels.
mskyfshntchr
I run power pro on most of my reels. From 5#-80# I use it. Spinning or baitcaster, doesn't matter. I use Stren super braid also. That works very well on the spinning reels too. Go light if you are using light lures. That seems to be the only time I have problems with my spinning gear- using heavier line and too light a lure. I wouldn't worry about it one bit!
Nick Kuhn
The 10 and 12lb Stren Super Braid and PowerPro both cast remarkably well and paired with the right weight lure. Just be sure to throw something a little heavier once and a while to get the line to respool tightly again.
slipperybob
The castability of a braid line depends on your the rest of your gear too like the quality of your line guides and their spacing as well as the quality of your reel in how it manages line on the spool. Grant
quite a few of us catfishermen use PP- myself included with quite a bit of success.
Deitz Dittrich
I have power pro on 4 of my rods, its great stuff, I got some Cajun braid to try this year just for fun.
Windy City Walleye Hunter
I've got Power Pro on many of my rods and Crystal on the rest. I am very happy with both.Windy
mike morris
I've had problems with it coming lose on the reel... It would then unravel in large portions, and would make a huge mess. What could I be doing wrong?
Northlander
I use power pro on a lot of my rods. I really like it for trolling to get my baits deeper. It really shines jigging or when fishing slop for bass.
anyfishwilldo
I use it on alot of my summer rods, and most of my winter rods. I will agree with the line spinning on the reel but if you use an arbor knot and double it up that problem is solved.

Sometimes you have to hold line and then reel in the tension onto the spool. When braid gets wet/soaked, it'll expand some on spool anyway so it becomes more loose. In this way you don't want a lot of braid on a spool. The wax material on PP helps to prevent this from happening, but the wax rubs off in time. ec30_06
Power pro seems to tangle up more on spinning reels than other braids that I have used.
Cliff Wagenbach
I use Fireline and Powerpro on all of my rods. Love the stuff! To stop the line from slipping on the reel spool just tie the line to the spool then use a very small piece of masking tape or electrical tape to tape the knot to the spool. No more slippage problems!Cliff
ripstick
The thing I found with both lines was that they both work best on level reels. I like for cranking boards for sure on lake superior. Spinning reels pretty much gave up. Good Luck.
EBass
Try Sufix Braid! Good stuff
Northlander
I will say that the Suffix I just got and have only casted a few times seems to be a nice superline as well. I will use it this summer and give some reports as I go. I will be using the 8# to jig with and the 12# to trol with.
I_Got_One
To keep the braided line from spinning on the spool simply use a little mono for backing a few yards or so would be fine then connect the 2 ends and spool on your braided line and it will never come lose.
