Muddog
I don't know. You should look in that tree in the back ground on the other side of the bridge. I do think you will find a Mepps spinner hanging in it from last Sunday. It was my buddy first cast of the year.
Fred_Bear
some pics of my easter break fishing... You can totally tell the first three are from a different lake than the last two just by the huge color differene Caught the last 2 about 5 minutes apart... Snapped my rod right when i set the hook on the second one and pulled it up hand over hand I coulda added a 10-15 lb fish to this group on the last afternoon of fishing. I was fishing by myself and had it to the bottom of the ice and got to see it twice only to have my snap swivel break after at least a 15 minute battle. umichjesse
IT Guy, were those fish from MN? If so, did you catch them both at once? If not, I would think twice about posting pics like that, MN is catch and release in the winter.
onthejob2
Streams are catch and release, you can keep them in lakes. Certain lakes are even open year around. Hopefully these were caught in a lake.
Flatlander
Top fish still has what looks to be a spinner in its mouth. I've never tried a mepps spinner ice fishing, but maybe some guys do.

umichjesse
Yeah I was looking at the grass and the spinner. Either he was jigging with a spinner through the ice in some very shallow water, or they were caught in a stream. Also, usually browns in lakes have a lot more silver to them. WxGuy
Let's try not to speculate too much. Without knowing the details of how, where, or why a picture was taken, there are plenty of things we clearly don't know.
