Got to talk fishing all weekend up at the sportshow in Duluth...Get all pumped, fell in love with a new rod/reel combo(which I will own before season starts).. but then I wake up this morning and its like a gajillion below zero...

I love to ice fish, dont get me wrong.. but this is making me crabby!

I have plans to re-organize my boat this year and add a recessed foot pedal hole for my trolling moter, but now cant even think about it as I shiver here at my desk...

Lets start a thread.. post your fave warm water pict from last year.. So help me, if you have a coat or a stocking hat or gloves on in the pict I will come unglued!!!

I'll start.. this may be my fave day of last season... Was fishing with my mom and my little fishing buddie Issac(nephue)... it was like 84 degrees that day.. caught some great bass and had a great picnic while watching Eagles fly around....This was also the last day my engine worked before I crushed it on a rock the next day causing $300 dammage.

This fish is by no means a piggy but it was a good time out with my brother and a buddy. Buddy hadn't caught any fish and he wanted to take his picture with mine and i said NO WAY catch your own but at the last minute he tried to pose as if he had caught it. ike

Not great pics but it was a super day fishing. It was actually my last trip of the year. My dad and I had about 80 bass all together including this largemouth(5lbs 7oz) and the two smallies(4lbs even and 4lbs 14oz). Gotta love it when you can still catch em on topwater in the end of october, though none of the big ones came on topwater.

Been thinking about this trip all winter long. Can't wait to get out this spring.

What rod/reel combo is this (Shimano Im guessing?)

Here's a couple of mine:

From Minnetonka on a frog.

From the "secret" lake. This bass had some shoulders on him.

Not the nicest fish (nevermind the long arm reach, just trying to exaggerate this walleye)... but I think this is what you were going for in this thread... HOT WEATHER DOG DAYS FISHING! By the way, the T-Shirt on the head works much better than sunscreen, especially when you dampen it.

Hey all,

First off, I'm posting a non-bass pic, but the two prior posts were a walleye and a pike, so I'm just following the trend! grin.gif

In my defense, I'm recouping from back surgery and have not left the house in a week! Cold air would feel good right about now!!! Any fresh air would feel good! I am so ready, just need to behave and heal up for open water....

Here's a Twin Cities Metro tiger from last summer, on a hot and sunny Saturday afternoon no less, so much for recreational traffic shutting the fish down! Also popped a mid 30 inch pike that day, a couple nice fish for the Metro area! Had a runabout with three co-eds come to ask about the fish after I caught it! Good times for sure!

First is my daughter from early may couple days before her second birthday, I was crappie fishing and she wanted to fish too. she was holding a rod with a slurpies tube over the side and big crappie grabbed it! second is her with a bass she "caught" I let her reel it in right to the rod tip!

third is my nephew with a huge carp from mille lacs he hooked it n the mouth on a senko fishing smallies sorry not quite in order but I am sure you can figure it out >

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
