Sad to hear about Ike's - that place was really popular back in the mid 90's.

I stopped in there several times last summer for lunch when I was out on the lake. Some of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. I'll have to get up there sometime soon and have another.

Haven't been to Yellow since early June. Been doing lots of fishing on Lake of the Woods lately and have been catching numerous 'slobasaurus' walleyes.

Take care, and best of luck to you all.

Gonna be kind of a let down, fishing back here in the real world ain't it? grin

Walleyes remain scattered. We caught them from 8-20+ FOW. Little preference from crawlers to leeches. We ended up with only 6 legal fish for the weekend with MANY in that 14 1/2 inch range that should be keepers before the summer's out. Several bonus big gills and perch were also thrown into the mix. Some are still catching a few crappies along the deeper weed edges.

This is the biggest fish of the weekend in our boat. My friend Bob, his first time on Yellow caught this 20 incher.

How deep are you finding weeds, Donbo? Are you typically hitting the eyes right out on that edge, or on the deeper break?

I've still been fiding some higher in the weeds while slipping with leeches with kids. Plan to hit those deeper areas this weekend coming up.

The weeds only go out to about 8 or 9'. Some that were slip bobbin' did well right there letting the bobber drift to the weed edge. The ones I found deeper were mostly near the bottom of the drop. Did well a couple places shallower out toward the ends of points or humps. We caught all ours Lindy Riggin'.

We covered a lot of ground to catch the ones we did. One or two here and there, like I said, really scattered.

Got out out on Sunday night on my way back from Gburg. Buddy and his brother were out there, so the lady was kind enough to drop me off. Caught a flurry of eyes and craps in a time window as the sun was going down. Caught a few perch and 1 big gill. Oh yeah and did some trolling for a short period an landed a pike and walleye. All the eyes we caught were that "just short" size.... Got real buggy as the day turned to night. Going to try and get back next weekend (hopefully)

Lots of fish boated this weekend, but the "keepers" remain scarce. Most came from 16-20 FOW as the surface temps are hovering around 80 degrees. Crawlers and leeches are both working. Be aware, jumbo leeches are hard to find up here. I'll be bringing some from home next weekend.

A nice mixed bag ended up in the livewell though, including a few gills pushing 10" and some perch aproaching 12"! Nicest perch caught here in some time. A few of those 10" crappies are still showing up here and there.

A nice weekend for a change. Really enjoyed puting on a sweatshirt again. Can't wait to get back.

Yep, I fished the outside edges of weedlines Saturday morning with leeches and crawlers and it was a dead sea. Drifted out to around 20 feet and would get a few strikes. I think you have it right in that deeper water. I just have to figure out how to fish that better. I have a tough time venturing off that 8-9 foot weedline for very long.

Cold and Windy! Fished this morning for a couple hours until I started to shiver (nothing like October fishing.....oh wait...)

Found 5 eyes, a few big gills (and a lot smaller), and a few token perch in 14-20'. Didn't find anything above that. Couple keeper size eyes and a couple just shy.

Northwest wind was biting.

Out for a few hours this morning. No walleyes, couple gills, couple crappies and a perch.

Thought I'd try for some northerns to pickle and caught two musky in less than an hour, one 40+ inches, one 20". (what's so hard about this sport? grin ) I'm sure that's the biggest fish I've ever caught on Yellow. Fun morning!

Wow, tough fishing this weekend. Only kept 3 walleye, 15, 17 and 18 1/2". Not very many shorts either. Oh wel, it was a beautiful weekend.

Only when the walleye fishing is slow do I try for other species. After my success on the musky last weekend, I had to try a few more casts. Caught a huge northern, (for this lake) probably 40"? Didn't actually measure it, only unhooked it at boatside, but she was big. That was fun. Still looking for those pickling size fish though.

The walleye I did catch were again in 18-19 FOW. No real preference for leeches or crawlers. Talked to one guy who did well up in 8-9fow. I've struggled with the shallow bite this year.

I only fished for an hour on Sunday morn and caught 3 eyes, all just short of 15" in 14-20 feet. And caught a HUGE sheepshead. I thought I had the walleye of a lifetime on...haha. Oh and 2 big gills. Those things have been hard to come by lately.

I fished on sunday. Dang tough fishing. 3 bluegills in 4 hours, arugh.

Question for you guys who got a few eye's deep. Were you seeing fish on your fish finder sonar? I scanned the deep ends of the drop-offs (20-24 feet) and didn't mark squat. I think I marked ONE fish.

Yep, tough Sunday (beautiful though, huh?) Kept one 18 1/2" in 6 hours. Yes, did mark quite a few, not as deep as you're talking though, most were 17-19'.

My Depth finder blows. Need a newer one. I never try to mark anything with it, just fishing the structure I want. Which I guess sometimes isn't a bad thing. The side sonar ones are so freakin cool tho. My only concern with springing for one of those is that I will never take my eyes off it! Almost like having satellite TV at the cabin and not looking out the window. haha...

Delayed report from the 10th. Fished the Northwest corner. 13 total Walleye. Only keepers came on crankbaits trolled in 25 ft. Almost all fish in the 13-16 inch range so there is a really good year class out there. Big sunnies hit leeches. No pike and a couple of 8 inch perch and one crappie hammered a crankbait.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
