whadyya mean. I just went to the store and bought it. I don't know why they call these flasher, because it sure doesn't flash.

Just kidding of course. I remember playing with this thing as a kid all the time at my Grandpa's cabin. Now that he's passed on, I get to play with it again.\:\)

Basically it’s temp sensor, so you drop the weight in, pull out line until you are at the depth you want. Then you turn the knob until the needle is centered in the window. Where ever the knob is at that point is the water temp.

Then you match the temp up with the species below, then look out because say the temp matches up with Lake Trout for example, they will be coming in, one after another.

Oh,great! Thanks, man, now my favorite fishing tackle outlet will be out of this fine piece of equipment just because you posted this! \:D\:D Seriously,it is interesting how far we have come in the last few years, with the progression of technology in fishing equipment.

Now Vexilar has a Depth Therm that can be bought for just under 10 bucks. Pat Smith at Thorne Brothers swears by them. I watched a seminar at Matt's Portable Modification Get Together and he said that during the Ice fishing season active fish will seek out the warmer water layers in a system. This explains why the fish will bite good in one area of a lake and not another. Even if the spots are similar.

Good luck,

Corey Bechtold
