Just thought that this group of guys could appreciate these pics. Tyler, Nick Enger and I hit up Red Wing this past weekend looking for 'eyes and sauger. We got a little more than we bargained for with this 53 1/2", 30 lb paddlefish! Interesting fight on walleye gear.

This was one of the coolest fish I've ever witnessed. Crazy did a great job of working the fish. It circled the boat, and wraped in the trolling motor. It also slid directly under another boat. They kindly brought their lines up and even had to lift the rear motor. At this point we were really wishing we brought the flathead/sturgeon net, because the walleye net simply wasn't going to get it done. I worked my tail grabbing magic (taught to me by Sir Fisky himself) and the pictures tell the rest of the story

Thanks everyone for the remarks. I have sent the top photo into Outdoor News, so keep an eye out. Maybe front page?? That'd be pretty cool!

I wish I could remember the last time I saw a Paddlefish in Outdoor News???

If that fish isn't on the cover, I don't know what it will take. Not really excited to see another "Big Buck of the Week" or something. I mean... how many people have actually caught one of these cool creatures in the state of Minnesota. I know there are a lot more than we think but given our fishing regulations, the accidental catch of one of these fish is pretty incredible.

Crazyice- you have no idea how jealous a few of us are of that fish. I'll trade you a 30lb+ flathead for that bugger, eh? grin.gif

Well I got my Outdoor News today. It made it in there already, not front page, but they did have a couple of pictured of some truely unique creatures on the front page, a walleye and a buck!! Mine made it on page 39 for those that would like to check it out.

LOL's

I think they look like mean fishes. I saw one in Cabela's tank at one time. Beautiful swimmer.

I'd post if I caught one! They're high on the list for a species to catch. Hear they are just as much fighters out of the water as in...pure bred MEAN. Sounds awesome. Much more of a challenge to catch then some other "game fish".

Have a spot picked out for spring where I hear they are stacked up. Can't wait! If I get one, you'll have pics. \:\)
