Leave the decoy out for days?

Is it a positive or negative leaving a buck/doe decoy out more than one day? I was thinking of getting one but hauling it out on the days I hunt would seem to be a hassle.

Anyone leave it out? I am on private land and hunt in a pocket that would be hard to find. Can I leave it out and scent it when needed? I can always put it in my ground blind when I leave I guess?

My cousin called me last night- he was watching a small fork horn, and I quote him directly here, "hump the heck out of his 3-D deer target" in his back yard. He turned on his back light and the buck jumped off the target, looked at the light for a minute, then jumped back on the target and continued to try to "give it the business". Talk about desperate! Thinking about that level of desperation gives me flashbacks to my teenage years... blush.gif

LOL at Scoot.

I saw a 3D archery target last weekend that has been molested to say the least a number of times.

Best to bring them in. They sure work great during the rut but with a lot of people out in the woods and bullets flying, can be a bad idea also.

Just do like they do in Montana during Elk season, they spray paint with orange or red spray paint, horse, cow or sheep on the corrisponding animal. You could paint "fake deer" on the side before you walk out in the woods with the "crazies" smirk.gifconfused.gifsmirk.gifgrin.gifc63
