wallter
Shot a nice 8 point weighed 210 field dressed. Good rack. Been hunting 25 years and this is the first deer that has even come close to going on the wall so I'm going to do it. It probably only scores around 120 but it's definitely a trophy to me. Need some critiques and recommendations. What can I expect to pay for a full cape mount, etc (feel free to fill in the details)? Thanks.
Shack
Where do you live? Do you have any pics of deer? Good going on your best buck to date. I think Harvey Lee can provide some good info on this type of thing. I have yet to get a buck that was worth mounting. I got a ten pointer a coulpe years ago, but antlers broke off one side tine when deer came down. I figured against mounting. Good luck
wallter
I'm in the Forest Lake & North Branch area. Thanks.
Shack
This might be a little to far west for ya, but I have heard a couple good things about OakWood tax in Zimmerman. Heard he has fare prices as well.Others may know of a good place closer to your home or have a better refference.I would e-mail Harvey Lee with this question. If I shot a mounter, he would be the one I would contact with questions.Good luck!
Walleye Guy
Try Rick's Taxidermy in Hudson. He does unbelievable work but it will take 10-12 months. I just picked up my buck from last year and he did an incredible job.

snoozebutton
There's lots of good taxidermists out there so if I was you, I'd ask the locals and keep it close to home. You should be able to see what he's done, most of them have quite a few mounts in the shop. Two years ago it cost me $350 and this years is $385 (plus tax which brings it to a little over $400.) They had a choice of a sneaking deer that was $450. Not sure why that one was so much but I opted not to have that one done and save the money. Anyhow, who ever you chose, expect about a one year wait which isn't necessarily a bad thing, gives you that much more time to get it paid off. They normally require 50% down. BTW, you'll never regret having it done!!!
96trigger
Mines going to run me about $450, there were cheaper guys out there, but this guy is known for his whitetails. I figured it might just be the biggest buck I ever shoot and he had a busted up nose so I thought it best to take it to someone that is well recommended. Muthagoose
Dean O'Brien One of the best and just north of Forest lake.. I think off cr250.Look in Yellow pages.. Considering the cost to get a buck worth mounting, it's far more than a mount cost..
