beaver11
has anyone tried the croxton pond rectangular rod case that holds your sonar unit in the bottom? or should i wait for the new marcum icepac?
Snag
The Revolution is nice. I usually put 4 rods in it. I didn't like the smaller ready rig that I bought.
BoxMN
Quote: I really like my Stone Legacy Revolution bag. I can put 8 rods and reels in it. Most all my rods are St. Croix Legends with the spring bobber and I have not had any issues with breaking rods yet. Can anybody post a pic of the Legacy rod case? I did searches and can't find any pics anywhere. Do they even still sell these? I have a cheapy Gander basic bag, but the Marcum new rod pack has my interest peeked. Also, for you guys with SOS, what do you pack them in, or do you just throw them in bottom of your sled? Thanks. I just got some but haven't tried it yet, obviously

MASON38
I like the suitcase style Ready Rig for my panfish rods. To keep rods from getting tangled I made rod sleeves for each one out of Loomis rod socks. For my longer walleye, pike and laker rods, I have the 38 and 42" Ice Pro models. Usually they will take three combos, but always two.

Lotwfisher
I use the beckman rod bags all the time. Was able to get 3 for 30 bucks when they were on sale. I use 2 rods in each case and maybe 3 if I dont have the line and lures rigged up. A large hard sided gun case works good also for putting in a sleigh and I can put my 45 inch trout rods in them also.
metrojoe
I've got 3 of the Ready Rig Ice Pros and they work great. The big selling point for me is the built in hard tube.
rocki
on the revolution bag, do you have to break down the reels?
fishinalot
You do not have to.
Deitz Dittrich
No you do not... but that also is going to depend on how many rods you are trying to put in there... when I have it stuffed, I do put the handle in on the reels so they dont tangle as easily... Now I got lazy and bought another one.. LOL
hanson
I don't know how Tyler can get those 8 St Croix's in there without breaking them. The most I carry is 6 (3 in each end) and you don't have to break the handles down. What I would recommend is picking up those Rod Slicks from Clam to keep your line & guides from tangling with each other if you store more than 4 rods in a Revolution. I love my Revolution, will be picking up another one this fall for my Jason Mitchell rods.

Tyler Holm
Quote: I don't know how Tyler can get those 8 St Croix's in there without breaking them. It is tight and sometime messy with 8 rods, but it is possible. It's not ideal for the run and gun, but it works for transporting your rods from your house to your ice shack. I do it often, but I also slim it down to 4 or 6 on certain occasions.

slipperybob
I'm just using a Contonico SUV stuff box,...,then I've got my rod's in 1" tube's that's water pipe insulation. Now, maybe I'm going to pick up a few sleeve's of neoprene pop can insulation material and use that for reel protection...but first get one and try it out...action plan for today after work.
