I will be there with my little boy for sure. Is there a prize for the shortest distance drivers as well? I think I am about 4 miles away. (Too bad I didn't buy great grandma's old house as it was a block and a half.)

I can't wait to meet some of the guys from the site here that to this point have just been usernames. It will be nice to put a face to the name and maybe even have a chance to set up some ice excursions.

See ya Saturday.

Tom

  • we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators

I'm going to try to stop in for a bit as well.

This has been one of the highlights of my pre-ice-fishing season.

We have structure! smile.gif If you're looking to save a few bucks on Reel Weeds (LaDredge Outdoors) we will have a pile of Structure on a String and Camera Cable Structures available. Bill from LaDredge will also be stopping by to chat for a little while...

I am looking forward to meeting everyone at this event.

As Matt mentioned I will be displaying new items from Jiffy, Marcum, Tica and R2-Tec.

Jiffy….

Has a new STX-PRO unit available this year.

2hp that will drill a 10” hole

R2-Tec…

R2-Tec is new line of fish house that is out for this year. This house is insulated with Thinsulate. I will have thermal images of the house to show how well it retains it heat. Thorne Brothers will be one of the few dealers stocking this house. You will be one of the first ice fisherman to see as well.

Factory personal for this house will be in attendance to discuss the house in detail.

MarCum…

New cameras

New ice rod accessories

Tica…

No new items (how do you top the Cetus)

But will be providing some give a ways

I will also be bringing some donations:

Jiffy hand auger, hats and who knows what else.

Oh yeah… I will be providing brats and pop

From 694, Exit 37 will turn you north onto Highway 47. Then go for a couple miles and turn left on 73rd Ave. Now turn onto the frontage road that you see right away (North or right side of road), it is University Avenue Service Road, keep going till you see all the vehicles, fishhouses, and thorne sign).

Yep, we're located just 2 miles north off 646 on 47 (University). We're on the east side right next to Dominos.

Tomorrow's the day! I'm really looking forward to this. We just recevied more donations... more burgers and buns... gear from MarCum... the list just keeps growing!!!

See everyone tomorrow! Going to be a great time! smile.gif

Just wanted to say thanks to Matt J and the gang at Thorne Bros for hosting this event. Everything they do is top notch. Also, thanks goes out to all the vendors there and the ones that donated prizes.

It was great seeing many members again. I attended one of the seminars and should have done more as the staff did an excellent job with very informative information.

two thumbs up, a nice event, thanks for the good time. The venison weiners were killer. maybe next year Ill bring up my portable. I especially liked the plastics for panfish seminar. It gave me a new outlook on plastics great job Corey and Matt. I also found the portable mod. seminar very helpful Chris has a great ability to logically think of ways to make his time on the ice most efficient. A+ BT

If you missed it again you missed a good one! Thorne bros. was an excellent host as well as a great location for the get together. Not to mention the sweet deals on the two new rods I purchased. Can't wait to try out the "Hanson appproved" grin.gif perch sweethart. I think I am really going to like the little stiffer backbone on this one.

It was good to see some familiar faces as well as figure out a few new ones.

I only caught the tail end of a few of the seminars but I managed to learn a bunch. If you attended any of them I'm sure you know what I mean. I wish I would have caught the plastics one!

If you have never been to one put it on the calender. Not only is it the start of the ice fishing season (IMO), but there are a ton of people that share that same enthusiasm that we all have to get out on the ice.

  • Your Responses - Share & Have Fun :)

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
