Maybe my best night ever!

Last night LFC and I fished the Moore's contest in hopes of continuing our money fish streak.

We did that and then some.

Seemed to be one of the nights when everything came together.

At the end of the night (we pulled an all nighter) we ended up boating 128lbs of fish.

I landed my PB channel which was just shy of 15lbs and my second or third biggest flatty at 44lbs. Larry finshed the night off with a morning 32. Mixed in were a bunch of med to large channels and a smaller flat.

What a night!

Not to mention another 32 and 21 that was caught by other participants.

I could go on and on, but will let the pictures speak for themselves.

I will also be putting up a couple of videos

You guys rock! Congrats on the big night! After the night Drew and I had Friday it's really stoking me back up to see some action coming in. Sounds like last night was the best night for bigger flatheads of all 3 of the Moore's contests so far, eh?

Hey wow, look at the color difference between the 32 and the 44! That's crazy action. They don't even look like the same species!

Congrats to both of ya, but especially Darren, PB channel, way to go!

Yeah bigger flats came out to play for the Moore's contest this time around compared to the last two contests.

Here's some pics.

Our buddy in another boat got two flats, a 31 & 11 pounder. He's probably gonna join on here at FM soon. They also put a few small channels in the boat too.

A little info and history on the Moore's monthly Catfish contest it runs monthly during the summer its $10 bucks it pays out 2 spots for biggest Flat and Channel.

We started a little over year ago and to be honest even knowing how good a Cat-fishermen Larry and Dtro are I wasn't overly impressed with some of there early victories I think a couple of tourneys there were only 6 or 7 people entered and the fish caught were not huge but still a victory none the less for those two.

Each tourney we tend to pick up a few Moore " grin.gif" contestants and the smack talk "FUN" and pressure to un-seat Larry and Dtro has really gathered, this tourney I think we had 20 people or so and some pretty good sticks "catters" out on the Rivers.

Talk about domination this was like the 41-donut whooping the Giants put on the Vikes in the playoffs a few years back.. grin.gif all things considered time of year length of tourney lots of people getting skunked recently, it was an incredible Job really!

Although it is a money tourney sportsmanship and fun are the theme of these get togethers Dtro actually had the top 2 Channel Cats landed in the event and even though there were no by-laws or precedents set he graciously gave up his 2nd place Channel winnings to the 3rd place kitty which I thought was a classy a thing to do!

Larry and Dtro are King for now but next month the party's over......I hope.... grin.gif

Congrats guys that was a no doubter!

There will be another one on Aug 11.

Thanks for the Kudos Pier, I truly believe a lot of our success is luck, but I have learned quite a bit and I feel Larry and I are able to assess the current conditions and put ourselves in a high percentage spot. Like Hanson said, when he is with me we catch fish, and when I am with Larry we catch fish. Dumb luck?.......who knows.

With 25 people in the contest, I honestly felt the odds were stacked against us in a big way. We can't make the fish bite. I see myself as an equal among catters, but the one thing I can say is that I have to will to sit in a spot I think I might get bit for 10-12hrs. Some people aren't able to do that, and if your line isn't in the water, your percentages drop.

Larry's fish came at 5 this morning, so waiting paid off.

We did pick out a few spots before hand, and fished them. We knew there were fish at all the spots and basically moved for a change of pace, that and the barge pushed us off.

On a side note, these contests are fun and I'm happy to see people competing in a friendly matter. I hope with the larger number that trend continues.

I think however that Bob may need to implement a control item eventually. smirk.gif

dtro; I applaude you for sportsmanship, attitude and fairness! There arent many who would give up $$$ for competing! I Quit fishing tourneys because of the cutthroat attitudes when money is involved!I have my MODERN camera now and hope to fish in the FM cats competition next spring sounds fun,and I do like tourneys where you can fish with people like your and many other FMers attitudes smile.gifcool.gif

Glad I slept in and saved the gas money to Moore's and back on Sunday.

2 nights in a row out to 4am really puts the hurting on a guy. grin.gif

BP League should be interesting this Friday. Now you guys have to find fish back upstream!

Gotta tell you, the video truly proves how LARGE those flatheads were. HOLY SHEEEEESSSHHH!! You could have put 3 1/2 grown man's hands side by side on the bottom lip of that beast Darren caught! I really don't know what else to say! Larry's 32lb was no slouch either, I would have guessed heavier on that one by more than 5lbs. Almost gets me excited to run down to the river tonight... almost! grin.gif

Congrats guys!

We thought the same. We did the double take with both scales. I think that the head being so big especially with those huge Knots on the side of its head gave it a little different look. I'm just glad to top 30lbs its been a while.
