Where you guys staying? I have a buddy with a boat in the harbor at Algoma and plan to be there from the 12-16th. We'll hopefully be heading out early the 14th&15th and putting the hurt on those kings. Might have to look you up at the Pizza bowl, kinda sounds infamous to me! Met the fishinmagician out there last year from the FM site so maybe I'll see you guys out there as well.

Just planned a trip for end of july. Staying at the harbor inn again. Last year the wind rocked us for 4 days and really killed most of our fishing. Only going 3 days this time and hopefully waves will stay under 6 feet.

It's all in the eyes of the beholder.

Loonasea, I believe I am stacked at this point for the trip.

Turnrevir, we will be leaving Duluth 5am Thursday the 12th and staying at the Harbor Inn right accross from Sunrise Cove Marina. We will have boats on both sides of the crib which is where the old Fire Barge use to be docked. We will be on the water every AM & PM and golfing in the midday till the 18th. Listen for vessels by the following names:

Ballz Draggin (Black Crestliner Sabre)

Ballz Deep (Grey & Blue Crestliner Sabre)

Screwball (Cuddy Cabin Whaler)

There are a couple others but at this point I am unsure of the names of the boats.

We usually stay within 5 miles of Port in 70-110 FOW, but obviously will follow the fish when we find them.

Cheffrey, we will be staying right on the boat in the harbor at Algoma. My buddies boat is a 34' bayliner and it is called the "Hobbyshop". We'll keep our ears open for you. Usually the first day we head out north and fish 80-110' then we may make a swing south the next morning depending on how the bite goes. Last year we knocked em dead one day in 80-90' and the next day they were out in 110' in the same general vacinity. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you, we won't get there untill thursday night about 8:30. Can't wait to get out and fish for those piggies again!

Tunrevir, check the pizza bowl for a bunch of fired up quassi red necks at about 10:30-11:00pm, I will wear a black hat promoting Beef's Fathead Guide Service. smirk.gif

Here is a pic of the boat we will be in, will likely have a grey bimini on it.

Nice! I will be hanging around the docks most of the time when not out fishing. I wear a faded mickey mouse hat, used to be dark blue but the sun does a number on that color. As far as the pizza bowl, I won't make it up there unless I know it is going to be really windy otherwise early to bed, we like to head out about 3:30 or so and be fishing by 4. I don't trust myself around pizza and beer to know I can get up early and still rig when the boat is rocking! grin.gif. I will try and make the effort to get over that way and look you guys up just to say hello and see how you did fishing.

Just returned from a 2 day trip to Algoma. First time there and I'm in love. We fished Fri afternoon and the fishing was some what slower, still pretty darn good in my opinion and then fished the morning on Sat which was red hot. Couldn't even get 3 lines set for the first hour or two. No monsters, largest king was about 15 lbs, lots of nice rainbows as well. One huge beast of a rainbow up to the boat before breaking the line. I will be going back many more times in the future.

Save a few big Kings for us.

Conni-D will be at the Big Lake campground 13th-17th. 20ft Marroon over white Crestliner. 3 Guys from north metro that don't have clue what we are doing after 20 years but love trying every year. Can't wait to get that first days catch into Bearcats for the brownsuger smoked meat candy.

Yeah we had a couple of run in's with the pizza bowl, one of which left us 2 men down for the morning trip. Their loss. We fished south of the entry down as far as the pump house i think. Fly's were money for the kings, and spoon's seemed to be best for the rainbows. My forearm is still sore from fight those babies. i think i'm gonna start lifting weights for the next time.

Cheffrey, we'll be heading east at noon thirty tomorrow. I will look for you guys over at the pizza bowl. Sounds like the weather is going to be okay for the weekend! I can't wait to get on the water! Hey you guys have a particular channel you stick too out there? Have a safe trip and I'll keep my eyes peeled for "Beefs fathead guide service". Good luck!
