Gopher_Man
I was at the game last night. Wow did Ortiz pitch great. The only thing that I don't like is that he threw eight innings and had about 90 pitches. Let him pitch the ninth. Up by Four runs - non save situation, let him pitch. He was on fire. How about the play Jeter made - the running catch over his head. Like him or not, he can play ball.
bassNspear
They wanted nathan to pitch becuase he was a few days long since he threw before. I understand where your coming from, where it would have been nice to see him throw a complete game.
bottomfeeder
Up by four, would that even be a save situation for Nathan?
Scott K
No its not a save! Joe needed some playing time. And ortiz was sitting awhile, they did the right thing, like it or not. One doesnt see to many complete games anymore. I wanted to see him get a complete game, but gardy does know what he is doing!
schweady
Nice to see a win in a Ponson start to even out the Santana loss. BEWARE! The pilot has just turned off the "NO JUMPING ON THE SIR SIDNEY BANDWAGON" sign!
bassNspear
He pitched ok last night. When he left the ball up, is when he got into some trouble. Just like anyone else would i guess. It was nice to see Cuddy and Hunter hit the ball around the park last night. Hope they can keep it up.
bassNspear
Hunting hit the ball around last night. I had a huge feeling that he was going ot do something huge last night. I am happy for him and what the twins have been doing. Looks like there getting the wheels rolling agian. Hope they can kep it rolling through the whole season. hanronson
I thought last nights game was great. Ortiz kept the ball down and our hitters were dublin all over the park. I predict a win tonight over Hernandez with Morneau getting a homer off him. Go Twinz!
schweady
Call it a "save" tonight, but what percentage of Nathan's outs this year have been on the basepaths? Got to the point that watching Castillo "set up" under those popups isn't the most nerve-wracking part of the night. Another 'W' but sure have been some crazy games. SledNeck
I predict that Slowey will be starting in less than 2 weeks
Trainman
They need to start scoring some runs. 1, 3, 3, 3 the last four games against mediocre teams with Detriot coming up. Looks like a repeat of last years April.
SledNeck
Down on the farm: Right-hander Kevin Slowey continued his outstanding run at Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday night when he gave up just two runs on three hits over seven innings in a 5-2 victory over Pawtucket. Slowey struck out nine in the outing and issued just one walk. For the season, Slowey is 3-0 with a 0.96 ERA. ...
SledNeck
Little Mr.Grienke almost caught himself a nice little beatdown.....I think Gardy Hollered from the dugout to tell Torii that he cant beat anyone up until Rondell comes off the DL.
CodyDawg
good post. i can just hear Gardy yelling that.
fishinphilth
No, I think I heard Gardy say we can't lose you your the only one hitting lately.
schweady
I saw it on FSN's "Twins Squeeze Play" and read Gardy's lips. He said, "Lemme go get you a bottle of champagne and you can use it to smack that Greinke upside the head."

SledNeck
I sure hope so cause I got tickets to the May 6th game and Ponson is schedualed to pitch!
LOTWSvirgin
Burn them May 6th tickets if it PONSON you could have a better night bbqing them tickets At least the beer would be cheaper than trying to make him look like a good pitcher
Jarrod32
I would expect to see Garza or more likely Baker before Slowey. No need to rush Slowey...give him more time in the minors. Same with Garza, even though he has some ML experience. Go with Baker first, and only if he doesn't perform well do you go to Garza. Slowey...maybe a September call up, then work him into the mix next year.
SledNeck
Dont expect to ever see Baker ever called up.
