Walleyes on the local rivers has been hit and miss - as of yesterday the rivers went up big time and are pretty much unfishable now.

Was just up by siren and webster to look at the lakes and heres what i got:

Crooked Lake= Open

Devils Lake= Open

North Sand Lake= Open around the edges but still lots of ice in the middle

Big McKenzie Lake= Open

All small lakes in this area are also open

Thanks crappieman for the report. I had to run to Link for a part on friday and I see half way lake along hwy53 is open but I checked the Gordon Flowage and it had lots of ice with open water in the narrows.

Sure wish it would warm up

All lakes along Hwy 77 west of Minong are open but that seems to be about as far north as they come. Lakes around Hayward should be pretty close to opening up.

Anybody have a ice out report for Lake Nebagamon?

As of last weekend I was told there was still people icefishing out there and I know for a fact that two days ago there were people still icefishing Minnesuing

I leave for Cancun in a week and I hope that when I get back they all will be ice free.

The father-in-law said they were up for a dentist appt on Monday. Whitefish still had some ice, Holly and some of the smaller lakes were still iced over but Sand was almost open.

Well it still doesn't look good up north here. On Saturday I went by the Upper St. Croix Lake, Lake Minnesuing, and Lake Nebagamon and all these lakes are still locked up. I guess one good point is that Minnesuing is starting to open up where the river dumps out and open out to the first point.

Hey Ran,Look out, I pulled the boat out yesterday and got her pretty much ready so I expect a snow storm some time soon.

ice is now off north sand too so all the lakes in the siren area should be open.

I fished the Eau Claire R for perch last night and caught squat...off course at the end of the day a couple kids had a pail full

The sand I mentioned is by Stone Lake. Haven't heard anything of late but I have to imagine things are getting pretty open by now.

I got out of putting in docks and lifts on Yellow this weekend, due to a 400 acre patch of ice still floating around. Little Yellow had some ice on the east side as well. On a side note. It's a sad day in Webster. Rocky's sold out, and a country western bar is moving in.

Dang !!!!! Rockys was an opener ritual for the past several years ,,,,one the other hand I wont have to take a bunch of "ones" with me this year ,,,Good Luck to alll Fishing Yellow this opener ,,,Ill be fishing for eyes but catching pike

The crappie fishing on Wissota and Altoona is starting to warm up. Hopefully I'll have a report by weeks end.

Caught a dozen perch on a small lake of mine in burnett county all ranging from 9-12 inches. action is heating up boys but the crappies were not in spawn yet.

Went out on the St. louis today, no fish in shallow- marked fish deeper (around 12-17 feet but no takers looks like I'll still have to drive an hour to get to crappies.

Does anybody have a water temp reading from NW WI lakes?

Not exactly NW part, but back home last weekend(Sayner area), fished 3 lakes from 250-900 acres and we found anywhere from 49-53 degrees. Ice had only been off the biggest lake since Tues. and it was 51.
