Guppy
one wayor another, I'll be hunting in MN. With gun if I get drawn or with bow if I don't!
brittman
Minnesota. Will be seven years straight. WI? First time I have applied, but most units were sold OTC for later seasons, KS? Repeat our 2003 visit Love to go to TX, NB, or SD, but may wait until my oldest son is a old enough to hunt too.
paintbrush
Minnesota,South Dakota, and Wisconsin if I get drawn for my tags. Going to go to Kansas or Oklahoma to try for a rios to fill out my slam.
Hotspotter
Paint:Very cool, the Rio is a fun bird to hunt. Fly down is early whenver I've hunted them!!! Before you can reasonably see to shoot, they're hitting the ground. Kansas was good to us, but OK was OK as well. When did you take an Osceola? That's the only one I have left for my slam. This year I'll be calling for a few different folks early in MN, and hunting my own season there (if I get drawn for a gun tag). I'll probably be heading to SD/NE, WI, then back to MN for a bow hunt should I not get my gun tag.One day I might contact you about that Osceola hunt. Sounds like it's the most challenging one of 'em all lest you go with an outfitter.Joel
elevatorguy
Well I will be headed to the Black Hills again. And I brain farted and missed the MN deadline. But I hope and am not sure if I can still get a bow tag for MN. If not I will have next year for MN. So Joel do you know if I can get one if I forgot to apply? paintbrush
Hi there jnelson: I got my Osceola 2 years back on a semi-guided hunt just south of Orlando. Lodging was included. It cost me 700 bucks, but I could hunt on his 1200 acres until I got my bird. I got him the first afternoon after having worked 3 different birds earlier in the day. I can get you his contact information to you if you want. Not sure what his fee is know though. I thought about doing a public land hunt, but that is a long ways to go to try get a bird and maybe not get one. Could be I never make it back down again. I want to though. I hope to get all 4 birds in one year, hopfully next year. Then on to try for a Goulds. Where abouts in Kansas did you hunt?

YEs you can in zones with 40 or more permits for the last two seasons with a bow. Good Luck in the Black Hills.
Hotspotter
Paint: Sure, send me his information if you don't mind, email is at the bottom of my signature. We've hopped around a few different places in South-central KS, but did best about an hour NW of Wichita. The birds are either full-blown Rios here or hybrids. West of McPherson I believe. As I'm sure you know, out there it's all about the rivers. Find a semi-major one, follow it up or down till you run into them. Scouting big cottonwoods for roost trees can be worth it too if the area is really devoid of veg. I don't know the situation out there now, as I have a buddy from there that lines us up with land. Asking permission seems difficult, as Kansas has a lease-disease with everybody and their brother thinking that this ditch or the other is worth thousands in lease fees. My buddy "guides" turkey hunters out there for $400 a day, and doesn't really lift a finger beyond lunch. He sounds more like a crow than a hen as well. IceHawk
Borch- I plan on hunting with you in MO!!! Don't you remeber asking me. Seriously If I get drawn I plan on hunting some river bottom gobblers. If not I plan on filming for others who get drawn in our group. Borch you know where I'm talking about, there has been a heck of a flock hanging out there!!!!
Cooter
A HOTSPOT in western WI my buddy has been hunting for a couple years - we put in as a group this year. If there is a way to screw up a turkey hunt, he finds it - and he still kills nice toms there It won't even be fair!

mntraveler
If I get drawn, somewhere south of New York Mills. Also, depending on family relations this spring around New Richmond, WI and possibly the black hills again. That could end up being a VERY enjoyable spring.
