NAPAFISH
Quote:I will take Tyson over anyone when he was 19-23....the competition wasn't always the greatest but he blew them out of the ring. Even when he fought the bigger names they didn't have much of a chance!!! Iron Mike Tyson...enough said..... Not to single you out, Look at his record, he NEVER fought any big names. He lost to the big name fighters. Holyfield twice, Lewis, Douglas

Anyone that disagrees should sit down and watch espn classic sometime when it shows a mike tyson career marathon. I watched it this last summer so I have seen every fight of his career. Around his prime(19-22)he didn't just win, he beat **** out of people. So I think Tyson in his prime is the best fighter of all time and perhaps that there ever will be. He would beat everyone, with the exception of Chuck Norris that is.

NAPAFISH
So I think Tyson in his prime is the best fighter of all time and perhaps that there ever will be. I think you need to grasp out and watch few more matches. Watch Roy Jones Jr. in his prime
ozzie
pound for pound Roy Jones JR might be close with Tyson but Tyson's punch had so much force behind it that it is too hard to compare with different weight classes!!! I know that Roy in his prime vs Tyson in his prime fighting in the heavyweight division Tyson wins hands down.....
NAPAFISH
I dont think he woudl have been able to catch Roy Jones. To fast to far advanced of a fighter. Once Tyson is hit a few times its over. He has no defense. His defense is his offense, to say the least. That is one of the biggest reasons he lost the Douglas fight. He had yahoos in his corner who knew nothing about defense or fighting. SledNeck
Ali in his prime couldnt box in Tysons era. Tyson hands down the greatest boxer ever.
harvey lee
The one thing that might beat Tyson alone is brains.Ali could outsmart Tyson without even turning his brain on.Sure Ali got hit alot as he let his opponets punch themselves out and then he knocked them out.He is and always will be the greatest heavyweight ever and Tyson will go down as one of the biggest fools.Let history be the judge. I would also sat that for the lighter weights that Sugar Ray.Oscar D and Roy Jones are right up there as all time greats. In Ali's day there were plenty of punchers as Shavers,Smokin Joe,Chuvalo,Quarry and one cannot forget Larry Holmes. These guys could hit hard just like Mike and Ali did very well agaisnt them. KidWalleye
This is a subject I love. Do I think Tyson could have beaten Ali? Sure. That said I think Ali could have beaten tyson. People who really know boxing know that if you're not mentally ready for a fight you probably will lose. We all know Tyson was not all ther at that time. ie Robin Givens. The real question I would like the answer to is :Tyson w/ Cuss vs. Ali w/ AngeloMy opinion Tyson in 3What we need is another Hagler, leonard, Hearns now that was the boxing I grew up with. Problem is when a guy loses one time he might as well quit. King likes undefeated fighters. Higher pay per view money I suppose. One more thing someone asked who hit as hard as Tyson. Ray mercer in his prime could bash with anyone, ask Tommy Morrison.Kid
harvey lee
Ali vs Tyson,a huge purse. It would take a Don King to put this one together.

It was at one of our local bars last month, and the promoter was Buck "Rock-n-Roll" Zumhoff. Another name from the past.DD
