Thank you Twins!

Thank you Twins for a memorable summer, I can now return to some fall fishing not having to worry about watching any more Twins baseball this fall. I would have like to see them go farther but they were a much better team then anyone thought they would be. Am already looking forward to next season and I hope it can be as much fun as this past one was. Hope we can keep the core together and of course improve our starting pitching and still find that big bat for the DH spot. Congrats Twins and I hope when other calm down they will see it was a pretty good year for Twins baseball. At the very Least we played three more games then Windy ! grin.giftongue.gif

I agree completely! Terribly hard to watch the post season end the way it did, but they gave us 162 games of excitement! I guess we'd have been better off playing the NYY. Regardless, this was my favorite Twins team even over the 1987 and 1991 World Series Champions. Hope they keep the team together.

I'd like to say thanks to a great year as well.

They are a young team, and they will be back.

I really enjoyed the ride this year, we have a great team!

I think it would be kinda cool seeing the Mets vs. Yankees in the world series?

What do you guys think?

The Twins are in a rebuilding year and they ended up winning the division. Even against teams set to win now (White Sox).

They did better than anyone and probably even themselves thought they could do. With so much happening it ended up being a great year.

Hopefully they can keep a few of these players and hopefully get the DH spot figured out. That is our main weakness. I bet in the american league we had one of the worst stats for DH's.

Thomas maybe ?

Even though I thought they celebrated a little too much before they even got to the playoffs they did great.

Can't wait for next year to see what happens.

a few months ago we were leaving this team for dead. Then it got to the point where we were glad that they were just being competetive finally. Then it went to the point were we had a 1 out of 20 chance at making the postseason and even that little hope excited us. I was of the thinking that if they made it this year it would be awesome but not expected. I was happy with them just making improvments toward next year. Then they go win the division and shock us all.

This really was a team building toward next year. If this is what we can do during a rebuilding year just think what we can do next year when we will be built to win.

And now since the Twins can't win any more the next best thing is watching the Yanks lose. I would love to see the Tigers win the World Series for a few reasons.

The tigers have been smart with how they built their team. They did it through the draft and the minor leagues and with a few strategic free agents. They did it the right way, the way the twins do it and its nice to see a franchise pull itself out of the cellar and rise to the top. They have been the leagues door mat long enough. It wasn't too long ago they almost set the record for most losses in a season.

Also I would like to see the Championship stay in the AL Central. It would help prove that we play in a tough division. I would love to see the AL central go 3 for 3 in world series titles. THe white sox in 2005, tigers in 2006 and the Twins in 2007. The east coast bias media can then stick those three titles in their ear.

I think the A's actually did it to the White Sox Train. Nice thing about our championship ring is that it is still shiny and new. Not 20 years old. Sounds like some whining going on up in the land of 10,000 lakes...Bitter? You should be, your Twinks were the biggest dissapointment in the playoffs. Biggest collapse since the Hindenburg. Windy

Well I' d have to say soundly that the Yankee collapse that is occurring right now is much worse. grin.gif As a pure baseball fan I am still impressed with the way the Minnesota Twins fought back in the second half of the season, for alot of these guys it was there first dose of the playoffs, they have a great foundation and were a pleasure to watch. If I was a Twins fan I would be feeling quite alright this team came back essentially from the gutter to do what they did, here here!

Tim,

I think that's about as nice a way as you could say SOME fans should "just grow up". One of these days I might.

Nyuk, nyuk.

Now another interesting game coming up for your Cards. Albert just couldn't be the hero today - maybe tomorrow.

Fat boy must think the suxs wasn't a flop. u still living in the past. We (the Twins) were dead in the water and came to win the divison. It must really bother u to keep bring up how u won last year. You're team (the sucks) really suck.

I would also say thanks for the interesting run at the end.I will admit that I gave them up for dead a long time ago and they made it so close that I must have watched the last 40 games.

They had a tough run in the play-offs but were great otherwise.Next year that division is going to be one tough place to win games.
