Your Help Is Needed - Volunteers - UPDATED 8/28/06!

I know there was a thread on here of people willing to help down in southern Minnesota.

Just now on the radio they were begging for volunteers. If your willing to help out some fellow MN people, you are supposed to go to the Cleavland Fire hall and bring gloves.

Please don't be shy, these people need our help. Trust me after you see what has happen and the sick feeling leaves your stomach, you will want to help too. It the best when you are done and they come to thank you for all the help.

Someday they maybe able to help you or I in a time of need. I know I want them there. I will be there Sunday again.

The News last night sat NOT to go to local fire halls, because they are not set up to handle the volunteers. The News station had an 800 number to call instead. (sorry, I don't remember which station it was)

What happened, tornados?

Yes, It was tornados. They were on the ground for about 26 miles. The damage is unblieveable what wind can do at 180 mph.

On monday I get to take a ride in an airplane to see the damage from the air. I hope to get some pictures

I went to help out after a tornado hit the Siren Wisconsin area and after a tornado hit an area south of Lakeville a few years back.

Its amazing what a tornado can do, but its more amzaing what a team of volunteers can do. I saw a crew of 10-15 people completely clean up a families property in a matter of hours. What would have taken the family weeks to do we did in hours.

Don't feel like you can't help, a few people getting together can do wonders for these areas. Also if you aren't phyiscally able to carry downed tree limbs or do other heavy labor give that number a call, there are usally just as many jobs that need doing that don't require heavy labor. there are usually donation centers where people can drop of donations for victims, these places need lots of volunteers as well. Just go out and do what you can. Everyone should see these things for themselves atleast once in their life.
