gspman
There's another site that has this for Dakota Cty. (or at least Eagan) and it's in color with amazing clarity. It is cool but also a little creepy. If the quality was a little better and with no wind on a clear water lake you could view a lake and find hidden contours and spots for fishing. riverrat56
Try out google earth if you haven't yet......same type of deal, but covers the whole world, great for finding out and looking at hunting areas, only downfall is not everything is highresolution pictures. Valv
I have Google Earth, but this one from Rice County is very creepy and scary. You can get all the information about anybody's place with it ? How much they paid, what's worth, their taxes, dimensions, etc.It is the actual site where the county researches and plans their area.I know it's public information, but I don't know if I like it to be THIS PUBLIC. Toby
In the early 1970's the military photographed Richard Nixon getting off Air Force one from space at the Moscow airport and you could read the presidential seal. This top secret photo was declassified in the 90's. The point is that this technology is 35 years old. You can''t imagine what they are looking at now. I went to tonight and it worked! The detail on this GIS Server is awesome! I to have seen the Google Earth before and when you start really zooming in to the map to get detail, everything does get a bit distorted.

river rat316
My aunt and uncle both work for the government, there job is to "read" the photos coming off the satelites they both used to be warrant officers in the army, now there civilians doing the same job, unfotunately for me they both stick very well to there clearances and dont talk. I can tell you that when Saddam was captured they and there whole unit were working about 16 hour days cause the satelites were keeping em busy! And by the way she says the photos are not that great, you hear stories about em being able to read a newspaper headline off the satelite photos and she says noway!
