Captain B.R.K
I was up on Lake of the Woods targeting walleye/saugers and thought I would give this spoon a try. I tied one of these jigging spoons from Scenic Tackle on Saturday morning and had great success over this last weekend. These jigging spoons come in a 1/16, 1/8, and 1/4 oz. size. There are also several colors the lure comes in: Red, Blue/White, Pink/White, Orange/Chartreuse, Green/Chartreuse, and Perch. The treble hook used on the Go-Devil's are made by VMC (red and super sharp). Which makes for easy hook sets and less worry's about missing those strikes! Finally they have a superior glow to them, hence the name "Go (glow)-Devil's". The paint/glow colors on these jigs are bar none the best quality in jig paint that I've seen on the market! The Go-Devil's are available at your local bait and fishing tackle stores and sold individually. I would recommend picking up a card of the Go Devil's as it's nice to have a variety of colors for those certain situations. I hope you find success on the ice with these jigging spoons like I did up on Lake of the Woods! Tight Lines!

Northlander
Great little spoons. The Perch and Crappies like them too.
CrappieJohn
These lures are terrific. As Coery has mentioned, they are good under the ice, but really shine in open water. These products have been very hard to find south of the Twin Cities, but I have managed to work with a local bait shop in Rochester and Jeff from Scenic to finally get a good cross section of the glow colors stocked in this corner of the state. The products themselves tell a great success story. That store has made multiple "re-orders" of the go devils in the span of a week! When the first order arrived they were being bought right off the counter top BEFORE they were even priced! And before they were announced as available on the site here. I know of this firsthand.....I was standing there while this happened! Two days later, after the announement, I was in there again for coffee and saw people come in the door and ask for the Scenic Tackle display. This is no bull!As I understand it, there is to be quite an array of Scenic Tackle hitting that store's shelves very soon. The assortment has already grown to include the AngelEye Jrs. and with the success of the Go Devil there, these too will be a sure hit.Just so you know, this store has the "glow purple" too and it is one HOT color to keep in stock. The Go Devil is but one of the baits that makes Scenic Tackle a front runner in the tackle trades.
ChuckN
I have been a huge fan of the Go Devils since they were introduced. At least 3 rods are tied with Go Devils at all times!! Crappies (and sunfish) love the 1/16oz: And walleyes really love the 1/8 oz and 1/4oz. Last year my hottest lure was the 1/8 oz Go Devil, and the Perch color was really hot. This season, gold has been a good color. I know how these lures fly off the shelves where they are stocked. Last winter it was crazy when I tried to find a few of my favorite colors around Bemidji. Store employees said they were just stocked a couple days prior...and I couldn't find a few. However, Scenic Tackle re-supplied shortly thereafter to save the day. Glow Purple?? Gotta get me some of them!!
Dave
I've been a fan of the Go-Devils ever since I tested them. I didn't know paint quality could be so good. Go Devil Test
Gissert
Yup! I still have the one that ChuckN gave me when we were fishing for suspended crappies. Since then, that one lure has caught hundreds of crappies and perch in Minnesota and on the Canadian side of LOW. The paint still looks great after all those fish and rattling around my tackle box on long trips across Little Traverse, Sabaskong, and Stevens Bays. Borch
I have loads of these in my icebox. Plus have given a bunch as gifts to my relatives who icefish. They are my go to jigging spoon. Although I do used the angel eyes, varmits and swedish pimples too. These spoons are compact, fish heavey for their size and just plain catch fish. The paint on these is darn near indestructable and the hooks are super sticky. What else does a person need in a jigging spoon?
Matt Johnson
I've been using the 1/16 oz Go Devils on panfish, and what a tool to have in your arsenal! Those little spoons packed with maggots are dynamite on panfish and perch! I always have one rigged up when chasing down pannies at early ice, an outstanding search lure and it allows me to effectively target fish in deep water, where I can drop own quickly to where the fish are. However, finesse techniques can be applied to these spoons as well, which really gives them the upper-hand in my opinion. Whether its Red Lake crappies, Winni perch, or inland lake bluegills, I've had great luck with the 1/16 oz Go Devils. My personal best crappie came on a 1/8 oz Go Devil, so you can bet trophy fish (panfish included) will hammer these spoons. I'm a firm believer in jigging spoons being one of the most versatile lure options for ice fishing, and the Go Devil is one of those jigging spoons that allows me to be as versatile as possible. we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted March 3, 2006 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted March 3, 2006 The Jigging Demon has been the hot lure for crappies outfishing all others 6 fish for every 1 fish caught on another and I thought I had tried everything to compete with it and it won hands down - UNTIL I remembered the 1/16 oz Go Devil. Well, the Go Devil outfished the Jigging Demon 8 fish to 6 Fish today. 1/16th oz Go Devil Crappie For those who think you have to finesse Crappies, here is a small crappie caught on a 1/16th oz Go Devil 1/16th oz Go Devil Crappie DO NOT be afraid to upsize when going after crappies. We also had a waxie and Optic Stealth Jig going and only 1 crappie was caught on it. The Optic Stealth has a time and place for sure and I wouldn't go out without it. But for now The 1/16th oz Go Devil Should be in your bag of tricks for March Crappies.
Matt Johnson
Not to stir up an old post... but I was digging through my jigging spoon box while getting things organized for the Portable Mod Get Together and have a quick question... Jeff, Do you plan on making a gold 1/16oz Go Devil? I know it was in the mix but I don't remember if it was for sure or not. Gold was a hot color for me last winter and I want to test for more ideas out for pannies with jigging spoons...

Pantherburn
I have been using the 1/16th Go Devil the past two seasons when targeting crappie and using maggots/euros. I have used the 1/16th and 1/8th ounce when targeting walleye/sauger up at LOW and had nice success but only about 3/2 catch ratio against the deadstick. Question for you guys.....when tipping your Go Devil with minnow/minnow head, where is the best place to hook them? When using a head, I had it hooked on the treble so the mouth was facing down and bouncing if off the bottom. Stayed on well and thought it would appear like a minnow feeding on the bottom. That was my rationale and I landed some fish. Is there a better way, for presentation sake, to hook the minnow head? When they are aggressive, I don't think it has mattered in that once the bar appears, it comes up and smacks it. Doesn't matter what is there. When it slows down and I start trying to attract 'em in, I do catch more fish than the deadstickers in the house with the jiggin' spoon just hoping I can get some tips on presentation to make the GO Devil/minnow head even more lethal. Thanks for any advice, guys. Good luck this winter!
Matt Johnson
I guess there's no real wrong way to hook the minnow head on. If something is working for you then I say go for it. I usually just hook it directly through the skull and into the boney part. And I also like to leave a little flap of skin or some entrails hanging down... I'll also pack the 1/16 and 1/8zoz Go Devils with maggots for pannies and perch. Plastics work well too.
