Ice Auger carrier for ATV

Looking for a good ice auger carrier for my ATV any suggestions out there?

I saw one at Cabelas that looked pretty decent for $39.99. I haven't used it, but it looks good enough to get the job done.

I saw those as well, looked pretty decent and you can mount it on your back rack. I've used the gun holders, but have had to wedge a tennis ball in each one to get the auger up higer off the rack. Think I'll be purchasing one of those from Cabela's.

You might want to post on the ATV index as well. I seem to remember that Dave one of the ATV moderators has one from Otter that is a big tube that looks pretty neat.

I bought the Mad-Dog ATV auger carrier last year and used it last ice season. Worked pretty good but a little difficult to mount for some reason. I like it for the fact that the auger stays there solidly strapped down, even when transporting the ATV. I would recommend it.

The Mad Dog holder is probably what I'll get just because is holds the auger secure while transporting. really dosen't seem to be a whole lot of options out there. Thanks

Ryan's ATV Racks

Ryan's ATV rack have worked very well for me. You are able to attatch to your front rack. It is secure and you can transport onn the trailer this way wthout removing the auger.

I've seen the v-style gun holders (that mount to the rack - like shown below) work pretty good, so long as you strap the power head in so it doesn't tip off... not the best method, but perhaps the cheapest...

I've been using the Ryan rack for 7 years and wouldnt have anything else. Leave it mounted on the front rack and you can use it for carrying other items all year around. Very solid and goof proof

it's more expensive than just carrying it, but you can drill holes right from the atv!!!

I use the v style gun holders that Marine man mentioned and they work great. I have them mounted on the front rack. In the fall I use it for my gun and bow and in the winter I use it to hold the auger. I would recommend a metal holder with rubber coating vs the plastic kind. Not sure what they cost.

You could also check out the Northern Tool HSOforum, ATV accessories. Just noticed, Mon or Tues, they also handle a carrier for augers.
