Still running around with a '98 Yamaha SRX 700. She is an animal still to this day. Can't beat that darn Artic Kill Firecat....those are quick. Anyway, I am getting older now and speed kills....but ya gotta love the acceleration of the SRX....it pulls hard. Oh btw I use a MXZ 440 fan cooled for pulling the fish house. That is a good sled to.

1980 Ski Doo Alpine. Does exactly what I need it to do. I am not at all interested in being a speed demon, but I love to pull my fish house around. Always starts right up, dont need any snow to speak of as it is all bogey wheels and fan cooled. I get calls every year to go pull some poor sap's sled out of the boonies where it died and they can't get to it or pull it with anything else. A bit hard to steer, but not that big a deal.

PerchJR, where do you guys go out west? We make our yearly trip to Cooke City and sometimes some make it ot Ennis, wouldn't miss a trip to the mountains for anything!

It's been Cat my whole life although when we were young we had a Polaris Apollo 340, as much as I like to tease Polaris guys, that thing took a beatin' and I know if I went out and pulled the recoil today that sucker would run with a little help.

Artic Cat all the way. My batteryless EFI in a ZL500 has been unbeatable as far as dependability. I just "converted" the garage to "winter mode" so the Cat is ready to roll just inside the cabin garage door. And the first time I find a good deal on a Firecat...

Hey Hanson, we stil gotta talk about antelope... I was talking to a landowner about '06 access today...

AC has always been my ride from day 1. Had a beater Ski-Doo for a little while, if I could keep it running. smirk.gif

This I picked up last year from a friend. Pulled it out of storage tonight to tinker with it. grin.gif

My dream sled would be the F7. Maybe someday when I can justify it.

Waverunner-

That batteryless EFI on the newer Arctic sleds is the sweetest thing! My ZR600 has it as well. I don't think I could own another sled without it now. 2 pull starts, every single time no matter how cold or warm it is.

Shoot me an e-mail again about Antelope hunting. Still very interested.

Right now I own a couple of early 90's polaris sleds. I've ridden just about everthing out there at one point and I'd honestly say I have no brand loyalty. I think all the sleds are great. When I upgrade I'll be looking for the best deal on the size machine I want.

batteryless EFI is pretty cool though...

Hey Mike, I usually go out to the Big Horns, west of Sheridan. Last year I went on my first trip to Yellowstone, we have another trip planned in Feb. for Dubois, WY and possibly one to Togwotee also!!! Like I said before if any of you guys haven't got out west, buy a long track and head west, you are missing out!!! grin.gif

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FISHING!!!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
