I saw one doing that last year really cool I posted some pics on this site of it but I couldn't get a video. Thanks for sharing that video. It still makes me wonder what they're doing when you see them do that.

I agree with you about it looking like a Northern, they thought it was a Musky. I can't imagine a Northern doing that, a Musky I can, I'll do a little checking on the lake.

If you pause it during the closeup near the boat, you can see the vertical stripes.

I have seen a few muskies do the same thing over the years...makes me wonder what the heck they are up too. I sorta think they are doing SCUBA but in reverse....just like how we like to take a look underwater once in awhile, they like to see whats above the water once in awhile. Go figure.

The lake is one of PA's better Musky lakes and the people were sure it was a Musky. FWIW I gotta go try that lake the next time I'm out there.

Ive seen two muskies doing this. Couldnt believe it the first time I saw it. I actualy caught them both, also.

I've seen a couple tiger muskies do that here in the twin cities. Pretty odd, no clue as to why they would do that

I saw a fish doing that this weekend. It was because of this post I was able to ID it as a fish rather than just blowing it off as some bird or other object in the corner of my eye. Very interesting video!
