Kylersk
Just made up a batch of sunnies with ShoreLunch Cajun style... Really tasty, only problem.. It's a bit tooo hot for kids. So, if you try the stuff, make sure you make a few fillets with the normal stuff for the kids.
0 Moose-Hunter
The cajun does have a bit of a ZIP to it doesn't it? With no kids and a pooch that doesn't like spicey food, I usually mix the cajun and regular in a 70/30 mix. This tones it done just enough where you (and your insides) won't ignite but you still know it's cajun. Yummy!!
0 gspman
I love Cajun fish breading but you are right. It does have too much kick for the children and even some adults.
0 Surface Tension
Its really bad when you have chapped lips. Fry a batch of regular for the kids first before the oil takes on the Cajun. I like the Italian Style SL too.
0 Pherris
Hi we really like the Cajun too. We use a 50/50 mix of regular and Cajun to tame it down. Another way we really like it is to mix potato buds and the Cajun mix as the coating. Hmmm Hmmmm Good!!!!!
0 upnorth
We have tried it and it is good, but like others we mix it with regular about 50/50. To me straight it kinda overpowers the taste of the fish.
0 Kylersk
Pherris, that's an awesome Idea! I'll have to try it next time
0 hoggs222
Too hot for kids, probably. In my house, we're adding more crushed red pepper to the mix. The hotter the better!
0 PikeTipper
I would also recommend frying the original or italian 1st. After you have fried up some cajun it seems everything will taste like cajun after that.
0 Fish Head
I started using 25% cajun and 75% original, but my wife and kids don't even like that. If I use and cajun its after I have fried fish in original for everyone except me. Than I still go 50/50.
0 andy j
Try the cajun batter from Legendary Northwoods. If is really good and really brings out the flavor in any thing that you fry. It is amazing.
