Where is everyone going this year?

Recommended Posts

I thought I would try to see if I could start a little activity here. I am wondering where everyone is going this year. Feel free to add in why or any stories you might have. I am getting anxious already.

We will being taking a houseboat out of Hudson into Lac Suel this year during the second week of July.

Hi Fish,

Are group heads up to a lake, north of Graham. We have to portage into the lake, but it is well worth it. Each trip produces a couple 40"+ northern and boat loads of walleyes. We end up buying camping permits and stay on a island. The trip is a lot of work but like I said it is worth it. The best of all is having fresh fish for a shorelunch.....

I'm an elementary school teacher. We usually head out the day after school to Selkirk, MB to wrestle with some monster cats. Then, we try to get up to the Morson area on Lake of the Woods at least one time. We always make it up to Ballard's for a week over the fourth of July as well. Usually fish the big lake if possible. When it's windy, we fish Four Mile Bay or the river.

MN Muskie,

Your lake sounds interesing. Does my username sound familiar. We used to head north of Ignace to several lakes. Any area you go is great, it is just nice to get away for awhile and fish. Mn Muskie let me know if you want my email for further details.

Fishfart,

It's on the Winnepeg river system. Very good fishing system. Walleyes are strong. Peter and Trout Barber run a first class operation. Take a run out to Big Sand when you get there. Can be some nice pigs out there and easy to fish....it's a haul, but worth it. I've always had good success using Jumbo leeches up there if your fishing eyes'.
