bobberineyes
We has one of those thingys, but still prefer to form with my hands. delcecchi
also if you make a depression in the middle of the patty, when it cooks it ends up flat instead of humped up. Can't do that with a press. bobberineyes

bobberineyes
Not taking anything away from the press, if I use ours and do juicy Lucy's, I end up using two pounds of burger. The thingy is that big...oops, was that out loud. Del , throwing a dimpled burger on the grill is the way to go. RebelSS and Dotch
leechlake
Craig Culver owes me $100 from a golf bet from 5 years ago...he should give me 20 burgers to square up. He's a welcher!!! I don't know what that does, must give leverage. Dotch
LindellProStaf
I think it is just a weight to help smash the burger. Culver's Butter Burger commercial looks great. Have never had one YET! Dotch

Dotch
Culver's Butter Burgers ain't bad for fast food. And you can put all kinds of stuff on them. Of course the frozen custard (turtle sundae or praline pecan) afterwards is bomb! Gad, I just ate and I'm already making myself hungry. Actually, most of the 'Sconnies I've hung with are a lot of fun to party with. They have some strange hang ups but after several, you hardly notice it. RebelSS
Hey, they have great beer, cheese, fishing, scenery...and girls. Not necessarily in that order, though. Wound up checking her for external parasites. Happy to say she was clean!

(Sorry the box looks a little disgusting- I got it at an estate sale. The press itself is clean as a whistle.) The press itself is clean as a whistle.) I've got one of these, as was said, the dimple in the middle keeps the burger from puffing up. I've also got one of the original tupperware burger presses. Both work good, I use which ever one matches the size of the buns my wife buys, tupperware press for small buns, this press for bigger buns. I like more meat than bun!!!! I like the presses because when I do my burgers by hand they seem to fall apart, especially around the edges. Not bad if I want a sample for me but I hate it when those pieces fall between the grate wires Dotch
reinhard1
I have two of them and the only time I use them is if I have a lot of guests over and then I make patties ahead of time with the press. Handy that way. It's also good for making thin patties for juicy lucy's at times to get a good seal. But in general for home use I use my hands.. We had a press to make patties at work to make a variety of "flavors" of patties and added high temp cheese. they were nice and uniform and could make them to a variety of thickness. So it comes down to what you want and personal preference really. You could have someone who is on a special diet for example and need 4 oz patties where this press would be handy. Whatever floats the boat. good luck. Dotch

leechlake
I think the carton of milk holder also was in the era of putting plastic runners on the carpet to shield the carpet from dirt. My buddies folks had that and even at 10 years old I knew it looked awful.

Mine is still a virgin. I could see trying it if I had a bunch of burgers to feed to a large crowd like some of the wedding and office parties I've grilled for. Otherwise, it's less hassle if I'm just doing a couple lbs. worth for us to wash my hands, make the patties then wash my hands again when I'm through. Our lamburger sticks together nicely especially if we plan ahead, allowing it to thaw slowly and completely, rather than being defrosted quickly in the microwave. Gonna wind up washing my hands at least twice anyway. lovebigbluegills

We had one of those for years. Made it easier to hold and pour the milk. Especially useful with kids around. No longer needed with plastic bottles. reinhard1
