CaptainMusky
I have a racor heavy lift that was purchased from Amazon a number of years ago. It wont reach the ground with a 12' ceiling though, but it sure works good in my 9' ceilings. BartmanMN
going4it
Deer hoist is only about 20-30 bucks and would make things much easier for you.
Cliff Wagenbach
A BICYCLE PULLEY TYPE HOIST ALSO WORKS GREAT! CLIFF
fishinnut_3446
Checked out the Racor lift but it's only rated for 250 lbs. Might try something with come alongs ?
Moon Lake Refuge
You could just build a cheep platform and rig up an electric winch...
ClownColor
Why so complicated...put that shif up in the rafters like everyone else! "Leverage" Edited March 6, 2016 by ClownColor
monstermoose78
Kayak lift is what I use it was on sale for 30 bucks. It is rated just under my house weight but remember they rate for half of what they can hold. I would not push the half thing but a few pounds ain't no big thing. Remember to take out all extra stuff like propane tanks fishing gear. I used ratchet straps to go under my house. I will post a photo later Cliff Wagenbach

Great way to make a nesting spot for mice and squirrels! Chewed holes in both of my portables! Safest way is to hoist the houses up against the ceiling. That way the rats can not get at them. monstermoose78
Place boards across the top to keep the straps from bending in the sides

fishinnut_3446
I built a floor up in the rafters just for extra storage, but like i said with it 12' high it's becoming a PIA,the Lodge is about 130 lbs and Resort is about the same, 1 guy up top with a rope and 1 guy on bottom pushing ain't cutting it any more. and the fact there are mice, those little MF's did chew 2 holes in the Lodge even with mothballs and bounce sheets in it ! mnguy152
I did the same as monstermoose did except I did two instead of one. I lifted my voyager in the rafters that way. plus stuff had stuff in it and on top.

See the "horrible people" thread in outdoor discussions aka sillytown. Poison is pretty indiscriminate, especially if you have pets around. My puppy would sniff them out in a minute. delcecchi
Use pet proof bait holders, if it is possible to make such a thing, or put the bait up high if you are storing the shanty off the ground. But I confess, I didn't think of dogs when I made the suggestion since I don't have one. So, that is indeed a good point.
ClownColor
I thought everyone knew about mothballs..I just put my hole sled and gear up in the garage rafters with a few mothballs and never had an issue. saved about $30 plus I have more room.. You missed fishingnuts mothballs and dryer sheets, got mouse holes anyway. In the rafters, I would have traps, glue boards, and rodenticide bait, unless I had a pet that climbs.
