Eskimo six sided or a clam 6 pack?? I've got a clam six pack now, uninsulated. I was thinking on selling this one and buying an insulated version. The only time I use it is when I bring the family out fishing, which is quite a bit. What have you heard about the Eskimo six sided version??? Or Eskimo hubs in general?

I have the Eskimo 949I and love it lots of rooms and you cant go wrong with an insulated house.  I use it for spearing and it is plenty dark on the inside that's the advantage Eskimo has over the Clam for the spear guys.  Only downside is the bag it comes in is so so tough to put it away if its cold and you get some ice buildup.

I wonder if the 6120i stepped it up with an oversized bag.. YKK zippers seem like a plus too!

We have A 949i too. We just put a strap around it until we get back to the cabin. Only fished 2 out of ours so far, nice & warm. I seen a post(FM?) this morning that L & M had a real good deal  on the 949i($230) & a Otter for $250, they must be clearing them out already. Free shipping too.

How many can fish comfortably out of the hub houses mentioned above?

I always spear out of mine but you should easily be able to fish 3

I think the 949I says 3-4 people. Personally I think 4 might be a little crowded  but could probably be done.

I have a 949i, and I usually put a strap around mine when I pack it up too..  Much easier than trying to pack it into the bag when it's cold outside, and I usually set it up in the shop to dry it out anyway before I pack it up for storage.

I would say you can comfortably fish 3 adults in the 949i.

Scoot, out of the 1660 you could fish 5 people easily. I'm wondering if the same holds for the eskimo six sided one.

Go with Eskimo IMO they're #1 for hub houses, I've had 2 eskimo hubs and they are bullet proof...I've had a couple buddies with clams and they didn't like them...I don't understand why the clam windows are so high up that you can't check your tip ups without standing up,its a little thing,but it was annoying...

I have the 1660i and I love it.  The thing is massive on the inside, way bigger then I thought it would.  Heats up pretty quickly too.

I agree on the size of the 1660, the only reason I'm switching is because I want an insulated one, and since I'm switching I might as well check out other companies products
