jmd1
I was told to use the cheaper filters too here in AZ where the A/C is on more than heat. I buy the 3 pack from HD and change once a month. With 2 labs and desert dust, they are pretty much done in a month. I had a washable one but it was a pain, to clean, dry, and put back together. My wife actually turned A/C a couple weeks ago as it was pretty warm here for Jan. We will have a few more weeks of cool weather (for us) and then summer will be here. I turned A/c on last year end of Feb and turned heat on first of Dec. Not looking forward to the heat again.

lovebigbluegills
Mornin Boober! I just poured my second cup, and got a fire going out in the garage. -26 according to the thermometer outside, and a pretty good breeze. I won't be doing much outside for a while either. I don't have much planned for the day either, but I'll find something to do out in the garage anyways. bobberineyes and RebelSS
Juneau4
I'm up and have to clean up the popcorn mess that I made when the Packers scored the tying touchdown, thought I was going to owe my brother some beer again. Dotch
Gud dagen! Slept in until 7. Rough day at the nudist colony yesterday although they were glad the mosquito control program finally looks like it's starting to work. Off to The Barn after being in the barn then gobbling down some oatmeal. lovebigbluegills and bobberineyes

LindellProStaf
Morning boys. -22 here. Got the stove in the garage going too. We keep the heat in the house set at 69. Man 65 is a little cool for us. We have a pellet stove in the front room where we usually hang. Keep it going 24-7 and have a little fan blowing the heat to the rest of the house. Really like it. Second year of having it. Takes some cleaning ashes and daily upkeep though... Finally got my fish house out on the river yesterday. Lots of ice now. I was getting lazy and decided to get with the program. Had a couple of bites but no fish. Got started late but felt good to be in the house..... Listened to the game on AM till it faded out. Would be fun to watch it in the fishhouse. Oh well. Can't wait for the games today. Going to be fun. I picked yesterdays game right in our pool at work. Today I have the Panthers and Broncos. Well have a good day today. Nice to have tomorrow off too. Just going to cook burgers today. Nothing special but I really like them. Later.... leechlake, Boar, RebelSS and 1 other
leechlake
I'm grumpy. Cell phones, kind of hate em and heres another reason, "selective usage". Around 1030 last night wife and oldest son, who weren't home, suddenly had selective usage syndrome. I just wanted to go to bed knowing where everyone was and when they'd be home. I will leave it there. Son and wife are on my list today. I thought about making the caramel corn thing that you mix up in a grocery bag today and maybe a roast for garlicky sandwiches for dinner. ThunderLund78
Been up since 3:00 am. Doc's got me on some good steroids for a little shoulder bursitis - one side effect of those is that you don't sleep well. Got the cakes on the griddle and some bacon in the oven - could be worse. Popular Post Boar
im up and about now, friday was tough, I got off of work at 5 and rushed home, loaded up the truck of coolers and bags for the weekend fishing trip to red. my wife had most things pcked, which was good. got on the road at 5 45. not bad. brought new puppy Zelda with to drop off at our daughters place in bemidji. Now as were on the road, Im starting to wind down. as on thursday I worked from 8-5 the 630-1130 plowing snow, then up again on friday for a more snow removal all day, now im starting to get really tired. My patience is wearing thin as every five miles is "I think puppy has to pee" I said Nobody id behind us for miles, I piulled over and she said, weres the Leash. I simply said, "really, your asking me that" so she took puppy outside and she darts in to the road, and screams at me, That was really f dumb!!! even though the nearest car was 3-4 miles away. and were on double lanes, so traffic only coimg from behind. I held my composure, and said dont talk to me like that again, and GAVE HER the silent treatment. after a half hour she said "well if your gonna be grumpy I dont wanna go this weekend, Im not gonna put up with your grumpy as s all weekend." I said, I was fine till you went Medusa on me. "well puppy ran into the road and I panicked" so that makes it ok to go medusa on me? she was quieted down. Piont team Boar. So now as were going along, thru baggley I notice a dollar general store, perfect i turn around and "what are you doing now" Im getting a leash and collar. Well dont spend to too much, "it dollar general" are your kidding? you should have packed the leash shouldnt have you. she got quiet, 2 points team boar.I missed the turn and pulled out my man card and pulled a U'e and get a snip of "Are your trying to get a ticket" Shouldnt have forgotton the leash. That was my last one cause now she's getting irritated by it. I no when to quit. on the road again, few miles out i pull on a side road, and after a few exhchanges of whos turn, I go out and stand with puppy and hope she gose pee, but she's just fighting the new collar and leash, and momma comes to the rescue, "Let me do it then if your gonna be a Dk" I take that shot and absorbe it, knowing full well its now 3-1 in favor of team Boar, cause she got one in and I got her out of the truck to walk puppy. a 50 yards on the road she's franticly looking for her glasses, "I cant find them" what did you do with them I ask I had them just before I got outa the truck when you being a dk to Zelda. Well you shoulda stayed in the truck, 4-1 with a glare of medussa, and 15 mn of silent treatment from her. Yea team Boar. I break the silence with a hunsband card, Are you sure there not in the truck between the seats or in the door map holder thingy? (its the I care card) works like a charm. she opens up softley, nooo, they were my favorite pair too. I bet there in the truck and we'll find them wen we get to ambers.. we get to ambers, drop off puppy look for glasses, no glasses. not shots fired. she accepts defeat at the hands of Alpha Boar. Mean while back on the road, i get a call from my good freind on the lake. "hey were on the lake, but one side of our house wont go down and the other side the cable broke. uuuuugh. after a few questions, I surmise that its not a huge deal, knowing their house. finnaly get to keliher about 930. uggg! I tell the now submissive wife, that Im not going thu the set up on the ice, and we'll just camp in the Adams yard here,(were I store it) and go out in the morn. She smiled like the sun, dam im good. not only did I win the battle, I'm a hero in her defeat. I call my buddy and tell them whats up, he's fine and warm and trying to fish and catching a buzz. alls good. next morning i wake up have the coffee laxative. jump in the truck, and go help the needy. to 10 minuets and i had their house jacked up and the leaf springs pinned and off to the repair shop. another hero moment. sooooo with all this happing and absolutely worst fishing ive heard of due to the high pressure, I think I heard of 3 fish being caught between 5 differnt groups i know spread across the lake in the last 24 hrs. I told the wife, let just go home and visit amber in bemidji for the day.its gonna be 25 below over night and the fishing su cks bad, we got ice-a-palooza next weekend. Another hero moment! so here I am at home with a well earned victory and a restfull night sleep, ready to do battle in the trenches of marriage, what adventures will it bring today... I feel Im ready tho, as I have may won the battle for now , but the war rages on!!! leechlake
I can't believe I'm saying this but that was an interesting read of a typical road trip of a married couple. I'm sure her scoreboard showed a little different score but I will humor you and agree. I will also say a belt can be a leash, or a string, or a rope or some tape, just my tip you weren't asking for. Ever think back to how road trips changed over the years. For example, pre-kids. No controversy at all, heck sometimes you even had to find a spot along the way to stop and "check out the scenery". lovebigbluegills, bobberineyes and Boar

Dotch
Don't worry boar, it'll get worse. Trust me on this one. Made 'er back from The Barn all in one piece. Riding the bus was the ticket today. No backseat driving from Mrs. Cheviot and I could actually get a look at the Twin Cities rather than worrying about some teeny bopper talking on their cell phone or texting while driving. I didn't know the Foshay Tower was no longer the tallest building in Minneapolis!

Juneau4
EARLY EDITION Think I'll sleep in- so good morning to all-not much on the agenda other than move a refridg, stove and clean under them, but I'm married so the list will be longer by the time I finish. reinhard1, Dotch and bobberineyes
Coffee118
Good morning, we are on the northern edge of winter storm Jonas so only got about 6" but still snowing. 3:30am & have to go shovel & plow the coffee shop lot & driveway before opening, after making a pot for me first. Then I guess it's just a day of watching college b-ball if no one calls off lovebigbluegills, reinhard1, bobberineyes and 1 other
Mid-Lake Rock
Just woke up in the wheel house and found this thread. Good stuff. Made me think about Labs and my furnace. Just remembered I forgot to turn down the furnace when I left home yesterday. I usually set it at 54 when I head out of town. I left it at 59. The mild weather should help me so I don't pay CenterPoint too much money. reinhard1, bobberineyes and lovebigbluegills
reinhard1
Good Morning!! Getting ready to head up to Grindstone this morning. First time out on my favorite lake. Going to stick to the shallows for rainbows today. Got too busy yesterday to put the wheeler on the trailer so I'll be pulling my portable with all the stuff on it. Can't go to my favorite spot this way but I don't have to go far for a chance at the roving rainbows. Trick is to get away from other people. Less noise, chances better. good luck.
