Stickjiggler
Considering doing the sleep study and getting a cpap unit. Any advice. Is it worth it? I know that I snore and don't really sleep all that well. Seem to be tired all the time. Thanks for sharing your own experiences and advice. delcecchi
I have several friends that have them and use them. They do the job if you have obstructive sleep apnea. The study will reveal that.
Borch
If you have sleep apnea the snoring is the least of your concerns. If you have concerns it's definitely worth getting it checked out. I've been using one for over 15 years. Can't sleep without it now. They are much better built now than back then. Smaller, quieter and more comfortable. chasineyes
I was 37 when I got mine. During the sleep study they found I stopped breathing over 50 times during the course of the night. I use to fall asleep at 4:30 in the afternoon daily until I started using this. Also snored like a freight train. Now that is gone as well. Sounds cliche, but I won't sleep without it. esox49
Anyone have recommendations for a FULL Face mask? I breath through my mouth and was told I need a full face mask.
amateurfishing
On 2nd machine, have learned alot, started with nose mask but always woke up with sore throat im am, found out mouth would inadvertantly open duri g night because of air pressure. Switched to full face mask. Honestly love it and nevefgo a night without it anymore no matter what, did take a few months to get used to though. Also mine came with sd card that recorded time and air pressure so had to take machine in once/month so theycould download info & send to insurance co for proof I was using it so they would cover it and let me keep it. Stickjiggler
Thanks all. I think I will pull the trigger and go do the sleep study.
delcecchi
Good idea. Sleep Apnea is very hard on your heart, and the poor quality of your sleep can cause drowsiness while driving and that is also potentially very harmeful.
PurpleFloyd
I tried lots of the nasal masks and never slept well due to leaks but finally got a full face mask and that works very well for me.Get a machine with c flex or similar technology and while it costs more I have always gotten the auto adjusting machines. Northlander
2nd year with mine and I have to say I get much better sleep, dont snore and wake up earlier and feeling much more rested. My lack of sleep was a part of the reason I had such bad migranes.
